Really disagree with this. This would suggest that the best way to get "good" grades is to strategically choose classes where you will be at the top of the distribution. Grades should reflect the quality of the work. Which has only a passing relationship to comparison.

As Orin's great post reflects, one key to a good law school exam answer is to reason *through* the legal materials, esp. cases, rather than to reason independently and then just cite the cases, as many students do. The "truth" is stylized in this domain, and it's important to see that.

Here’s a story for every national news outlet: In N.C., churchgoers are literally running into the woods as federal agents descend on the property. “Inside the church, women and children sobbed as they wondered whether their loved ones had been taken.” www.charlotteobserver.com/news/politic...
6d Listen to this article
Congregants of an east Charlotte church scattered into the woods Saturday when masked federal agents arrived and detained one of their members, according to witnesses.
About 15 to 20 church members were doing yard work on the property off Albemarle Road while their children played games and their spouses cooked meals.
Agents parked just outside a closed gate leading to the church parking lot and ran into the yard, said the pastor, who did not want to identify himself or his church. The agents asked no questions and showed no identification before taking one man away, whose wife and child were inside at the time, the pastor said. They attempted to grab others, too.
"Right now, everybody is scared. Everybody," he said. "One of these guys with immigration, he say he was going to arrest one of the other guys in the church. He pushed him."
Inside the church, women and children sobbed as they wondered whether their loved ones had been taken. Some yard workers fled into the surrounding woods when officials arrived, including 15-year-old Miguel Vazquez.

Historically in the US, liberals being more secular is something of an aberration. It was more often the opposite right up until the televangelist era. Remembering the Confederacy as more churchgoing, for example, is total back projection. (see: John Brown, Battle Hymn, Lincoln's bible-quoting, etc)

BREAKING: The First Circuit denies DOJ’s stay request in the SNAP case, refusing to stay the Nov. 6 enforcement order. Justice Jackson’s 48-hour clock started just before midnight Sunday, meaning the administrative stay she issued Friday ends at the end of the day Tuesday.
But the district court did not order the government to
use the Section 32 fund until November 6. It did so after it
concluded that the government had failed to comply with its
October 31 TRO. As a remedy for that noncompliance, the court
ordered the government to make the full payment of November SNAP
benefits by November 7. Thus, even if we were to stay the second
TRO, the government could not obtain the relief that it seeks unless it also meets its burden under the stay factors as to the
enforcement order.
For the reasons that follow,
we conclude that the
government
has
failed
to meet the stay factors as to the
enforcement order, and we deny a stay of that order. In any event, the district court has now found that the
government failed to comply with that October 31 TRO, from which
no stay was sought and no appeal was taken that would have
prevented the order from taking effect during the period of alleged
noncompliance. Thus, for present purposes, the question that the
government's motion to stay the enforcement order presents is
this: Has the government made a strong showing that it is likely
to succeed in establishing either (a) that the district court erred
in finding noncompliance with the October 31 TRO or (b) that,
insofar as it did not err in that regard, it could not order full
funding in consequence of that noncompliance?
As we have explained, the answer is no. In the single
paragraph it devotes in its stay motion to addressing the
enforcement order, the government does not make a strong showing
of likely success in either respect. And in the only other passage
of the stay motion that could be read to address the finding of
noncompliance, the government fails to grapple with the actual
basis for that finding.
