Let’s talk about the arrest of Luigi Mangione. Innocent until proven guilty isn’t just a phrase—it’s a cornerstone of justice. Even in high-profile cases, even when police claim they have evidence, we can’t take their word as truth. Check out my latest video here: youtube.com/shorts/4CCLr...

Except that they don't have any other suspect and need someone to take the blame. Whether or not he did it and the proofs around it don't really matter. This guys is pretty sure to get the maximum he can

Let’s skip the arraignment, avoid the sentencing, and get straight to the hanging. Why not?

I’m curious in your job as a public defender how hard is it morally to defend someone you know is guilty. I’m curious, not being disrespectful.

If I was his lawyer, I would site trump as a precedence. His case was delayed indefinitely for bigger and more country-breaking crimes. So Luigi’s case should be suspended until trump is sentenced. Sorry justice system, but trump is wayyyyy ahead in the line. No cut-sees.

However, our legal system isn't really a search for the truth, or proof of guilt. It's a zero-sum game of who can afford the best lawyers with the most resources and play the system to its own advantage. We can't take the law's word as truth anymore.

Correct! It isn’t the police’s job to state that they have evidence, that is the remit of the District Attorney.

it’s hard to believe a guy who graduated from UPenn and counseled pre-collegiate AI gifted students through Stanford was so dumb as to not immediately get rid of the handgun, silencer, and jackets. For days? Makes no sense. He seemed to plan everything else out well.

If Luigi's so smart, he'd know this: comparing a 3D high-density polymer to molded lead, the latter is softer. It's science, not a debate. So, he wanted to get caught—he kept the pistol used 🧌. He's on a mission. This isn’t uncommon in wealthier families—he's not a pro.

Innocent until proven guilty is an important point. The one thing that's missing from this is how can that be if as soon as a person is apprehended they're named? You might as well just put them in gaol without a trial because trial by crowd has already happened

Not sure why it’s shocking he would keep his manifesto and ghost gun on his person. Seems proud of the manifesto and this CEO might not have been the only target. His manifesto referenced “these parasites”, which would imply more than 1 target, thus the need for the gun.

Jaz @3amjaz.bsky.social · 10/12/2024

Honestly even if he is found guilty, I think all the evidence was planted. They really needed to pin the crime on someone, so more people didn't get emboldened. In my opinion, I think more people should get emboldened. The punisher wasn't the courts this time, it was a lone man.

It’s fishy because you’re assuming this is what the cops want. It’s more likely what Luigi wanted. He wanted to be taken alive, for a poor person to get the reward money, for his manifesto to be read, and gets everyone to realize we can just print guns and don’t need the NRA manufacturers profiting.
