Diane Coyle @dianecoyle1859.bsky.social · 13/09/2026I’m all in favour of hire bikes in principle but idiot cyclists who park like this give the rest a bad reputation. It only needs a molecule of common sense … 4452535
stevewarren209.bsky.social @stevewarren209.bsky.social · 13/09/2026Lacking common sense when operating/parking a bicycle is still far less disruptive and dangerous than lacking common sense when driving/parking a car. 030
ChemicalProphet @chemicalprophet.bsky.social · 13/09/2026Molecules of common senses are extremely uncommon… 030
Dominik Lenné @d-le-nen.bsky.social · 13/09/2026Same here in Berlin I do not understand this is ridiculous 000
Rob Booth @rob-booth.bsky.social · 13/09/2026I'm a cyclist but vibes. Always I'm in favour or I'm a cyclist followed by some petty criticism. How often I'm a motorist but this motorist double parked like a dick or parked in a no parking zone? Not very often. 4121
Kevin Fae Berko @ktrynr.bsky.social · 13/09/2026Bad design (should have to be dicked to end the hire) and badly regulated (firms have set their own rules that get abused). Take their licence to operate away. 110
ruthmayorcas.bsky.social @ruthmayorcas.bsky.social · 13/09/2026Yes but you can move these. Clearly more bike parking using car parking spaces are need. And by the way you can’t move these 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻 0262
Melanie in Miami #AbolishICE @melanieinmiami.bsky.social · 13/09/2026The bike share companies have the renter’s info. I think there should be automatic fines for bikes left like this. 211
Veronica P @vronr.bsky.social · 14/09/2026Surely you only stop the hire charge if you park It in a parking spot? 000
♣️♦️🏴☠️FrⒶnQ🦝❤️♠️ @anarchocook.bsky.social · 13/09/2026i highly doubt this was a “cyclist”. much like with scooters its probably just a teenager or tourist, but go off i guess 010
♣️♦️🏴☠️FrⒶnQ🦝❤️♠️ @anarchocook.bsky.social · 13/09/2026did you try moving it instead of taking a picture and writing a post about it? one seems a lot easier than the other. 150
Markus Deserno @markusdeserno.bsky.social · 13/09/2026Exact same problem with E-scooters. I have never seen a poorly parked privately owned E-scooter. Rental ones, on the other hand… 000
Brer Marsh @brerbear.bsky.social · 13/09/2026In our town, the people who hate e-bikes and e-scooters kick them over intentionally and position them in obstructive ways specifically so they can complain about them. 011
tempedan.bsky.social @tempedan.bsky.social · 13/09/2026no doubt one of those who also leaves their grocery cart blocking aisle while browsing at their leisure and so I relocate it several aisles away for them although they probably have no clue where they left it anyway! 000
Rolo @rolo-lines.bsky.social · 13/09/2026I'm actually completely opposed to corporation led hire bikes. They are a tourist gimmick. The bikes are poorly made, heavy future landfill crap. They're not intrinsic to active travel at all. They're overshadowing community bike refurbishment and local hire initiatives that are more sustainable. 000
jpople.bsky.social @jpople.bsky.social · 13/09/2026Helpfully looks like they are partially blocking a dropped curb as well. We just have Voi scooters where I live which are similarly thoughtlessly left blocking pavements. I do report them to Voi which seems to improve rider behaviour (well at least I hope it does) 000
Paul M 🇮🇪🇨🇦🇫🇷🚲🍉 @onebiskuit.bsky.social · 13/09/2026I see your e-bike, and raise you one Kia Sportage SUV. Now, whereas the bike could very easily have been moved into that position by someone entirely different from the last user (now - I wonder who that could possibly have been?), this car was put there by the moron driving it. bbc.co.ukDriver wedges Kia SUV on Wales Coast Path at MumblesIt was jammed between a concrete fence post and a bench, and had been abandoned by the driver. 2171
Abelian @abelian.bsky.social · 13/09/2026In principle, I have nothing against the people at our second-best university. But some of them give the others a really bad name. 010
Rich @rich531forever.bsky.social · 13/09/2026You think I have a bad reputation because of whoever left this bike like that? 180
The Ranty Highwayman @rantyhighwayman.bsky.social · 13/09/2026As someone who sometimes rides a bike, I am no more responsible for someone parking a hire bike like an arsehole than you are as someone who sometimes walks for another pedestrian throwing up on the pavement. 1361
Tony Yates @t0nyyates.bsky.social · 13/09/2026A particular breed is the ebike hire cyclist that thinks they are doing everyone a favour by parking their bike up against the barriers designed to lock regular bikes to, so you can't get to the barrier. 0120
Haribo's_Biggest_Hater @jkmcguee.bsky.social · 13/09/2026knock it over and report it for being in the way 001
curiouspaddy.bsky.social @curiouspaddy.bsky.social · 13/09/2026I live next to a pub and opposite a cargo bike bay. Watched two chaps on the way to the pub try to leave bikes neatly at the end of bike bay, but the app refused that space, they had to leave them on the footpath to end the hire. Suspect the app didn’t like that the bike bay looked like a car space. 150
Mary Louise Pigott 🇨🇦 @mlpigott.bsky.social · 14/09/2026Odd. I scrolled through your profile (admittedly not for long) and couldn’t find any posts about idiot drivers giving all drivers a bad name. I assume I just didn’t scroll back far enough, right? 000

Simon 🪗 @mzdt.bsky.social · 13/09/2026I agree - and being reasonably able, I move them out of the way for the others that can't. 050
Citizen X (He/Him) 🏳️🌈 @xma1e.bsky.social · 13/09/2026Councils need to make it easier to ban them from residential streets and put in dedicated parking bays on the road for them. 200
Aerendril @aerendril.bsky.social · 13/09/2026This is avoidable if all councils where to regulate parking to only permit rented bikes to be locked in designated areas. 050
Will cycles slower than you 🇿🇦🇬🇧🏳️⚧️ @williamnb.eurosky.social · 13/09/2026Why do you drink drive? After all, SOME drivers do, and I'm simply applying your collective blame method here. Or does collective blame only apply to cyclists? No, idiot cyclists don't give ME a bad reputation, just like idiot drivers don't. 070
Alastair @as-j.bsky.social · 13/09/2026Cyclists are not a single community any more than motorists or economists. Someone else's poor behaviour should not be projected onto other individuals who simply use the same mode of transport . 1370
