🌍 Duncan Kimpton 🛠️ @dgkimpton.bsky.social · 10/09/2026Same with software - different acronyms same implausible skill set requirements. I can only assume most applicants don't have anywhere near the full set, are super human, or maybe I'm just a degenerate human 🤷 000
omgitsbees @omgitsbees.bsky.social · 10/09/2026My field has similar insane requirements. :/ its rough out there. Let me know if I can help, will keep an eye out for roles that you might be interested in. :( 010
DesignPatternPirate @despatternpirate.bsky.social · 10/09/2026And funny enough they'll get at least 1,000 applicants that fit those requirements in this market 000
🚲insert into haunted select uid from partisans where party = "R" @db-user.bsky.social · 10/09/2026these salaries especially are a joke seems like everywhere fired critical personnel on the IT/ops side and figured they can hire back principal level professionals for junior paychecks 230
Ryan @brassmonkey.com · 10/09/2026Also will need 10 years experience with some 3 yr old technology. 010
Generic white guy SysAdmin @westbynoreaster.bsky.social · 10/09/2026It's obnoxious because even the "required" is more a matter of "we'd like if you had four of these things". But hiring managers and HR staff will not listen to reason when they are told this dissuades many very capable people from applying. 120
Correlated Noise @correlatednoise.net · 10/09/2026Or the flipside, recruiters being impressed with your neteng chops so they want to know if you want the $20/hr desktop support gig thats only a 6mo contract, requiring you to move to like Philly or some shit without relocation help And then there’s the rando nursing ones because of your *C*CNA 010

Roland K. @knall.cloud · 11/09/2026I know guys who thought of themselves they fit those criteria and failed at basic Wireshark. I hate when HR just does BS Bingo in those ads 011
J. Peterson @isonno.bsky.social · 10/09/2026I'm reminded of mobile app dev job ads demanding "min. 5 years Swift programming experience" - posted just two years after Swift was announced. 000
Name_Too_Long @nametoolong.bsky.social · 10/09/2026Tech job "requirements" are farcical at this point. I remember a post from a guy who got turned down because he didn't have enough years of experience in the programing language *HE CREATED*. I've also seen an (unpaid) internship listing that "required" a CISSP. 061
