We're doing these racists a big favor when we pretend their project is in any way based on actual grievance with modern DEI policy. They just want to promote the belief that no non-white person has ever been worthy of any praise or qualified for any honor or position

This is blood-boiling. Charles Rogers was awarded the Medal of Honor in Vietnam after being wounded three times leading the defense of a position. Google his name and the entry below comes up. When you click, you'll see the page has been deleted and the URL changed to include "DEI medal."

Absolutely. If you are non-white, you are immediately in your position (no matter what it is) because of the color of your skin, not because of your abilities. Period.

Even the grievances with modern DEI(A) programs are the fruit of those, as you said, "favors". The agenda of DEIA is anti-discrimination. Too often, it's presented as affirmative action. Paraphrasing Jon Stewart. "They want to make the default setting for competency to be straight, white, male."

With the caveat that I largely agree with you & am chagrined by the wrong-headed and oft-ill-intentioned war against DEI, it's interesting that (at least as of last night) there was still at least one black Medal of Honor winner whose page didn't get this treatment (yet). Not sure what that means.
