Drop your soup recipes in the comments Personally I'm a big fan of @hels.bsky.social's Roberto, a flexible template for a sort of Italian wedding soup Also, arroz caldoso is fantastic for those who prefer a thicker stew and have some high quality rice sitting around

this is super easy and amazing — the spicy version in the cookbook is better, but I don't see it online: thekoreanvegan.com/superseiyan-...

Simple Doenjang Chigae (Soybean Stew) - The Korean Vegan

We grew up on deonjang chigae. And when my mom came over to watch the dogs the other day, I thought I'd try my hand at this old favorite.

No recipe, but a fun fact!

Re: "Italian Wedding Soup": the name is the result of a mistranslation of 'minestra maritata', which means "wedded broths", because it combines lots of veggie and meat flavors. In Italy, it's associated with annual pig slaughter. The fresh bones provide the basis for the broth. Viva gli sposi!

Italian Wedding Soup Has Nothing To Do With Actual Weddings - Food Republic

In spite of its moniker, this dish is not served at Italian weddings. In fact, the only walk down the aisle in the soup’s history is the pig’s to slaughter. Writer Katie Parla gets to the bottom of th...

I've been making a lot of congee. 1 cup rice, 9 cups water, 1 lb. meat. Season to taste after cooking. Cook time varies; I do 3 hours in an Instant Pot and ideally let it sit for a couple more hours before serving.

This is Roberto. Yes, there is a lengthy preamble before you get to the actual recipe. But Helen is an excellent writer, so you should consider not skipping it - if only to find out why it's named Roberto. I've made this countless times - it's the perfect fit for my Dutch oven.

Extended family loves this Cuban Black Bean Hambone soup - I usually transfer it to a crock pot for the 8-12 hour simmer after initial boil:

Slow cooker. Chicken broth. Chicken breast. Carrots, shallots, any veg you have & want to add (yellow squash is great). Aji amarillo, yuzu juice & ginger as the main seasoning, black pepper, turmeric, celery bitters, & a bit of lemon enhance those nicely. Let it simmer until the chicken falls apart.
