the prairie really reminds me of the countryside out in the Riverina, the Wimmera and the Mallee back home (if it snowed in those places). beautiful expanses of space and gently rolling hills that just invite you to stare off into the distance bsky.app/profile/mmbb...

having done this trip eastbound 12 months ago I feel very lucky to be able to say I've done it both ways now. The Canadian should be a bucket list train for any rail enthusiast or good fucken views enthusiasts out there. thanks for following along folks bsky.app/profile/mmbb...

I'm just having the best time guys. travelling through the Rockies was everything I hoped, seeing everything all covered in snow and frozen is unbelievably delightful for an Australian like me, especially when it's currently 50°C warmer at home than it is here. I feel so lucky
