I once had a conversation with an ancient Professor of Journalism at Rhodes University. He said that evaluating a headline is actually really easy. If a headline exists, that would leave the reader better informed than the headline that was used, then the headline that was used was shit.

The BBC is easily fooled, alas. In their Gadarene rush to "be fair" they believe that this means 50% coverage to each viewpoint regardless of validity, instead of reporting the truth and calling out the lies. Their charter does not need to be changed but their directors and editors do.

The days when it meant something to be truthful, opinionated and forthright are gone George. What we have now is dictated, curated and safe. There are islands of free thought and discussion such as yourself but people are now either accepting of any drivel they see or alone in trying to see truth.
