It is a shame that gaming magazines have become a past time. They used to be such a staple in the gaming with awesome artwork, interviews, ads and artwork too. I get we live in a digital age but there is room for physical media too like gaming magazines #retro #art #gaming #Magazines

Where else would I get the code to turn Samus pink in Metroid?

I really don't see how it's not feasible. It'll obviously not be a HUGE money maker, but still. People like them. Advertisers could use them. (Good ads are so rare nowadays after these mediums died out.) It could be a supplement to a website, I guess. 🤷‍♂️

I have a bunch of gaming magazines, like Nintendo Power and Retro Gamer, although it's not completed. At least it's really fun to read and look at gameplay pictures.

I have been recollecting SEGA Visions magazine. I love it so much and also still have my Game Informer collection circa 1997-2001. Digital age, schmigital age. It's not what we were promised or is cracked up to be. I'll keep reading my books and magazines until I'm ready for cremation.😂

If you're into IndieGames, there's a couple magazines worth checking out that have both printed and digital copies. @patchmagazine.bsky.social and @debugmag.com I used to have my own but it's hard to keep up when I do it alone. My old issues can be found here dearindiegames.com/indiefix-mag...

The Australian gaming mag “HYPER” was so damn good. I switched to them when NMS ended and godamn I should have been with them the whole time. I would have missed out on do many good games and anime without them.

Go to your local electronics or gaming retail shop and look in the back corner. They always have gaming mags for dirt cheap. Very easy to start your own collection

I miss the feeling of getting a new Xbox magazine every month. Reading about the new games, playing the disc it had included with a bunch of demos, trailers, profile pictures, etc

For me the heyday was the N64 era. The library was so small that you could literally be familiar with every single game if you had a gaming subscription. I think this is a part of why people remember the N64 so fondly. If you were obsessed back then you didn't miss ANYTHING

I also feel advertising through physical media pushed creativity. So many cool ways to make YOUR publication stand out from the rest and we all won because of that competition. not to mention you could find great deals in some of these magazines too!

It was so cool seeing things like end of year award nominations being apart of holiday issues. Some magazines like Nintendo power even had fan voted nominations as well if you were a subscriber This is a lost art of the gaming industry

I remember when computer gaming magazines would publish the source code for a game, which you had to type in manually.
