Minnesota's next governor is going to be a woman, and while I believe Klobuchar could win, the fact that the Republicans nominated a conservative black woman is not a surprise to me.
Often the first member of a marginalized group to get to higher heights is the one to throw the other members of their group under the bus.
Most of the first female prime ministers and leaders were very conservative. I wouldn’t be surprised if the first female president of the US were Republican.
