Finally cracked open my new .ᐟ (4 month old) @pikarar.com sketchbook. The paper is so smooth/thick/takes ink deliciously. This is with a pilot G2. 10/10 would recommend .ᐟ.ᐟ

Earlier I read a description of an arch. project that said “embraces the original home’s sensitive body language” and had to laugh (cry) because why is it normal for English speakers to personify a BUILDING, or car, or call inanimate objects “she” or “her,” but animals, plants, bugs are “it?”

Thinking about native plants and native pollinators, this is an important local bee, Osmia Lignaria, known as the orchard mason bee, or blue orchard bee, in a lino block print on Japanese kozo (mulberry) paper with gorgeous, blue washi chine collé pollinating a blueberry flower. 🐡🧪 #linocut 🧵

My linocut print shows an iridescent blue and translucent white chine collé blue orchard mason bee (Osmia lignaria) hanging upside down from a white wild blueberry flower. There are five other blueberry flowers and leaves and other parts of the plant in pale green with hints of red. Printed on ivory washi paper.
