Is Pete Hegseth a serial killer? (Sincere question/thought experiment; not a joke) I think there is ample evidence the answer is ‘Yes.’ "Qu'est-ce que c'est?"

In conclusion, I sincerely believe the United States Secretary of Defense - with authority over the most well-funded military on earth - is a psychopath and serial killer. "Qu'est-ce que c'est?"

He has documented substance abuse problems (also seen in the ‘chasing the highs’ granted by killing).

After ‘successes’ (boat killings, Venezuela raid), he seeks new and more ‘exciting’ challenges, possibly trying to get another ‘high’ (quick move from Venezuela to Iran War).

Andrew Zolides, Ph.D. @zolides.bsky.social · 09/10/2026
When confronted with clear and abject failure (Iran), he lashes out with more displays of violence, but different style killings in an attempt to regain ‘control.’ (livestream firing squad)

He enjoys using slurs. (super common amongst many serial killers)

He is obsessed with gender and its performance.
100
Andrew Zolides, Ph.D. @zolides.bsky.social · 09/10/2026
He dresses and styles himself like Patrick Bateman. That is to say, the outward appearance of sophistication is meticulously maintained to ‘mask’ the psychopathy. Clear fears of letting the mask ‘slip’ to show the baser animal underneath who is incapable of handling his base urges (to kill).

Andrew Zolides, Ph.D. @zolides.bsky.social · 09/10/2026
By ‘renaming’ the Department, he shows his preference for exacting violence outwardly and proactively rather than being defense and ‘reactive’ to the threats of others.

Andrew Zolides, Ph.D. @zolides.bsky.social · 09/10/2026
He seems obsessed with describing and presenting his work; the expressions of and reactions to the killings seem more important than the acts themselves (see boats killings)

Andrew Zolides, Ph.D. @zolides.bsky.social · 09/10/2026
He clearly takes pleasure in directing the killings of others; it is not ‘just his job’

Yelling about AI literacy instead of actually holding tech/media companies to account is so exhausting and repeats a tired refrain. First it was media literacy. Then it was social media literacy. Now it's AI literacy. It's not a literacy crisis when the technologies are working as designed.

I never like to do the "why are they talking about that when we should be talking about this"... But in this case, if your political/cultural analysis doesn't reckon with or acknowledge the open, ongoing destruction of democracies, egalitarianism, and liberalism by obvious actors... you're lost.

This is really important. When we talk about the need to ‘deprogram’ folks, the real target ought to be people still believing we aren’t facing a fascistic, authoritarian, anti-democratic threat and that everything else is sort of secondary to that.

The reason this reads as so refreshing and even bracing: the publication is privileging truth over lies. The truth is known. The govt. is saying false things. The report *observes this fact and then asks what the implications are*. That is not common industry practice on the politics beat.

As someone who lives in Cincinnati, this was a very “Leo pointing at screen” meme moment, as Vance’s last minute trips to and from his home here are incredibly disruptive. Shuts down all traffic around his neighborhood, which is actually in a densely populated area.

“We reflect society” is always the biggest tell for people who are poor journalists/media makers. It removes all agency and responsibility, because the very act of writing and creating shapes reality and society. You can’t claim to be outside of society merely ‘reporting’ when you exist IN society

This is so incredibly naive. The primary ideological divide isn’t about minimum wage or welfare or tax rates… it’s about whether we should have a liberal democracy or not. It’s actually that simple - one group believes in liberal democracy and one pretty explicitly does not.

Democratic Party: This is a genuinely good first step to winning back ‘independents’ and turning out your base. You have to then actually deliver and punish the lawbreakers, but it’s good if you start by basically calling them assholes.

It's good that we invented things like "government" and "the economy" but we can't meaningfully participate in them if the people in charge are constantly rubbing in our faces that these things are fake, and in fact you are a naive doofus if you think otherwise. That's a society on life support
