Finished listening today. Mazywood is good. Still working through my thoughts. It’s not really scary from a creepy perspective. More of a thriller with supernatural elements. In the right hands, this would make an excellent movie/miniseries.

🧖🏾‍♀️ A day at a Korean spa. I had so many aches & pains from breastfeeding & awkward sleeping positions. The quiet time, massages, & treatments would’ve been nice. 🥪 A meal train. A break from cooking & doing dishes was always welcome.

My homegirl just had one of those moments where she glitched & forgot she had a kid. 🤣 It’s like your brain slips into an alternate timeline where the psychological re-wiring of motherhood never happened. “Oh yeah we can get do brunch on Saturday girl!” Me: “Who gon’ have the baby?” Her: 😵‍💫😳😨🫣

I honestly think the rise in post-apocalypse /dystopian stories is to give people a false sense of security. The masses see those shows and movies and think "oh! We're doing okay because it's not that bad," and go back to not challenging the status quo.

Maybe it’s age and all, but I liked the quietness of Lanterns. The battles were within; they were “grown people” battles yet universal in a way. Coming of age, but not in a teen setting. The grappling with life we do after we think we’ve made the right choices in life. Any Easter eggs were a bonus.

I plan to take classes next year. I consider it a life skill. We moved apartments a lot as a kid. I can cook & clean but there are a lot of specifics I just didn’t learn until I got a house. Faucet aerators & dryer chute thingies & termite prevention & all that.

I moved out of my mama’s house when I was 18. (& was practically running the house before then.) Decades later, & I still learn new things all the time about adulting & home management. (Like the fact that I’ve been using too much soap to mop these floors & that’s why my grout looking dingy. 🙄)
