I got too excited this weekend. 😩 Broke a sweat walking Mojo to school this morning. 83% humidity in the middle of October. IDC, this is uncomfortable autumn weather even for swampy Houston. Stay hydrated, friends.

My heart is so full today. Supported local businesses + a good cause last night. Spent part of the afternoon with my mama & Mojo at the library. (Which must have elicited déjà vu for her because she stayed in the library with me at his age. 😆) Just good vibes. Peaceful joy. 2 of my treats:

Similarly, The Babysitter & its sequel are also fun if you like comedy horror with a lil bit of gore. These may have flown under the radar on Netflix, but I enjoyed them. #Horrorsky #Filmsky

I finally got around to watching Ready or Not 2. I wish I saw it in theaters theater. Loved it. Just a lot of fun. Samara Weaving does panicked determination extremely well. The fight scene between Grace & Francesca was hilarious. 🤣 Both movies are high on my #SpookySeason list.

This is what I did. Had to consult Google for everything in “execFileSync” because I kept getting the syntax wrong. But like I said, once you install Pandoc & tell it what to do, it’s not too bad. There is room for more automation & fancier stuff later.

$build-resume.mjs scripts ••. import { execFileSync } from "node: child_process"; import fs from "node:fs"; const input = "resume.md"; const reference = "styles/resume- reference.docx"; const filter = "scripts/resume-tables.lua"; const output = "output/resume.docx"; // Make sure the output directory exists. fs. mkdirSync("output", { recursive: true 3); console.log( Building Sfoutput} from $ {input}..."); execFileSync ( "pandoc", [ input, "--reference-doc", reference, "--lua-filter", filter, "-o", output, { } stdio: "inherit", console.log('v Created Stoutput}");$

$132 BILLION dollars could have been distributed across all 50 states to address dozens of issues. More than enough to feed & house people. We keep accepting these “aww shucks” lukewarm efforts from politicians, & we should ask ourselves why. Source: www.wionews.com/world/iran-u...

How much did the Iran war cost the
US?
According to Moody's Analytics, the war has cost US consumers and taxpayers about $132 billion so far, with the economic repercussions set to be felt for a long time to come.
According to Pentagon comptroller Jules
Hurst, operational costs of the Iran war stood at $29 billion on May 12, $4 billion higher than the figure presented by the Trump administration in April. It is also expected to ask for supplemental appropriation to cover the war costs.

⭐️ 2.75 for this one. Just as disappointing as “When the Reckoning Comes.” fable.co/review/fd218...

I usually enjoy books in this genre (historical fiction with a touch of magical realism or the supernatural), but this one fell flat for me. There were many beautiful passages, but ultimately the end just fell flat. I think this would have been better served as a trilogy of novellas - 1855, 1924, & 2017. The constant timeline jumping did not serve the narrative as much as it could have. And frankly, the storyline with the white grandmother wrapped up too abruptly. It felt like lots of setup with a bland resolution.

Good morning. ☀️ May they suffer for the harm they’ve done. May we do what needs to be done to rid ourselves of their perversion and pestiferous ways. Amen.

Psalm 109:8-17

8 Let his days be few; and let another take his office.
9 Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.
10 Let his children be continually vagabonds, and beg: let them seek their bread also out of their desolate places.
11 Let the extortioner catch all that he hath; and let the strangers spoil his labour.
12 Let there be none to extend mercy unto him: neither let there be any to favour his fatherless children.
13 Let his posterity be cut off; and in the generation following let their name be blotted out.
14 Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered th the LORD; and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out.
15 Let them be before the LORD continually, that he ay cut of the memory of them from the earth.
16 Because that he remembered not to shew mercy, but persecuted the poor and needy man, that he might even slay the broken in heart.
17 As he loved cursing, so let it come unto him: as he delighted not in blessing, so let it be far from him.
