Artists feel pressured to make new art too quickly at the moment. Normalise artists fucking disappearing for months. Just walk off into the woods for a year and come back with a single sketch. It’s good for you

i thought you know what, i'd gotten a healthy chuckle out of one of the players joking about Essek wearing glass slippers under his cloak back in c2, so i might as well create something out of that. so i did. happy belated valentine's day friends #shadowgast

an erotic digital painting featuring two characters from Critical Role, Essek and Caleb. Essek is depicted as a slender lavender-skinned drow with pinned back shoulder-length wavy white hair, while Caleb is a light-skinned human with auburn hair that doesn't quite reach his shoulders, is slightly messy and swept back.

the camera is looking down at the couple, Essek sitting on the edge of the bed and leaning back on one arm, and Caleb on his knees in front of him. Essek is almost entirely naked; there is a necklace with an eye-shaped pendant resting between his small breasts and a long chocolate brown silk robe that is pooling behind and around him, having slipped off his shoulders and covering only his forearms. he is wearing glossy, almost transparent glass slippers on his feet; one of his feet is on the ground between Caleb's outer thigh and hand, while the other is resting comfortably on Caleb's shoulder, the knee bent and drawn upwards.

Caleb's face is turned entirely away from the camera, the direction of his gaze parallel with the viewer's. he is sitting placidly in front of Essek; his wide thin back with prominent shoulder blades and dense freckles is slightly bent, one of his hands hovering close to the ankle of the foot Essek has on his shoulder. his facial expression is not visible, but Essek is watching him with hooded eyes and a slightly crooked, pleased smile, with a deep dimple in one of his cheeks.

the painting employs a limited palette of rich browns and wine reds, and the couple is lit with a cooler blue glow from one side, and a warmer red from the other.

you might remember a rather racy painting i did of Caleb helping Essek into a fancy outfit, as well as it inspiring @luddleston.bsky.social to write an even racier fic, which prompted me to illustrate it. guess what, the fancy wizards saga is not over 😎 link to ludd's fic in replies! #shadowgast
