The University of Calgary’s School of Public Policy has been selected to conduct an independent analysis of the potential economic impacts of secession so that Albertans can make an informed decision. Because these data centres (in part due to kneecapping on renewables by government rule changes) will largely be gas-powered, somehow all the provincial government concerns about agricultural land and viewscape preservation re: solar farms don’t apply and we won’t see any rules.
