good night, sewers. good night, streams. good night, operations and maintenance teams. good night, settling tanks. good night, stream banks. good night, engineers, scientists, crews, managers, inspectors, analysts too. a good night for us means serving with care. good night, sewers, everywhere.

#whistpr, #center When the rages started, My Grandmother taught me that there was a calm place in me, in my #center, and she'd touch my chest and say "go there while the rages blow themselves out." Years later when I understood why I raged, I remembered something else she said, "He'll die soon."

A poem about over-reliance on anger. #poetsofbluesky #poetry #vss365 - #charm #vssdaily - #cymbal
The Leech

A loser offering me a ride home
On his motorcycle
After a long shitty day.
“I’ll just take you where you’re headed.”

Honestly? It felt cool and it was fun,
My heart bouncing like a cymbal.

Til I realized I’d held on too long.
And gave up too much.
And I had other things
I was supposed to be doing.

What can I say?
Rage has a certain charm.

A poem about glamour. My submission for #poemsabout #glamour thanks @alanparrywriter.co.uk and @thebrokenspine.co.uk #poetry #poetsofbluesky #mom
Heirlooms

Amber jewels adorn me.
I always admired how they shone
On your dresser
Back when I sat on the floor

And you looked in the mirror
To brush mascara on your thick lashes.

“You have beautiful eyes.”
People now tell me.
“Thanks.”
“I got them from my mom.”

#whistpr #fog I knew a few years before he flew by in a blue convertable and dissapeared into the fog of time. When I finally met him no time had passed and his eyes remembered too. When you see a bridge in a dream think twice before you cross especially if there is fog on the other side.

When you hear "Happy Monday!" but you haven't had your coffee. #MondayMotivation 📷 Peter Christian
A Peregrine Falcon stands with its back turned but glances over its shoulder with a fierce, unimpressed stare - as if someone just wished it a “Happy Monday” and it’s not having it. Its feathers are fluffed and its expression says: absolutely not.

My family doesn’t really read my work. My mom used to, but that’s mostly it. I’m cool with it, used to it, understand it, am unbothered about it. 😌 That said, my auntie asked me to send her Death of the Author months ago. Got this text from her this morning, 🥹:

"You can always tell a real friend: when you've made a fool of yourself he doesn't feel you've done a permanent job." - Laurence J. Peter
NO TEXT, NO LETTERS, NO WORDS. A minimalist, high-contrast modern woodcut depicting a subtly fragmented, stylized jester's cap, abstractly rendered to suggest impermanence, gently supported or balanced by a robust, grounding geometric form. The composition is asymmetrical, with the primary subject positioned in the lower-right corner, leaving ample negative space in the top-left and center for text. Heavy black ink on textured cream paper, with stylized lines emanating a soft, reassuring golden glow from the grounding element, emphasizing stability and acceptance. The style is reminiscent of a contemporary printmaking exhibition piece.. CRITICAL: This must be a purely visual abstract image with ABSOLUTELY NO text or writing of any kind.

Now that my eyesight is declining with age, I have noticed how much easier it is to read books produced with relief printing. Reading a 19th century edition of Milton with a tiny font that would normally be illegible with no problem. The depth clues from imprinted paper makes a huge difference

A Wooded Landscape collections.artsmia.org/art/127708
black and white etching of a landscape scene; small house on top of a rising hillside; tree on left edge; small, bare tree in LRQ
A landmark of 20th-century book illustration, David Hockney’s unconventional interpretation of fairy tales selected from the hundreds compiled by the Brothers Grimm (Jakob Ludwig Carl Grimm and Wilhelm Carl Grimm) during the 19th century, considers the supernatural and psychological content of these bizarre stories in visual terms. With a virtuoso handling of linear and tonal intaglio printmaking, Hockney explores the characters’ motivations, values, and temperaments, presenting his own reading of the tales while seeking a greater understanding of human mentality. The illustrations also reference art of the past, a common feature of Hockney’s work, with visual allusions to Uccello, Carpaccio, Leonardo, Brueghel, and René Magritte. As a result, there is a timeless quality to the images that complements the stories’ centuries-old legacy of folklore.
