Zendervai @zendervai.bsky.social · 26/09/2026Yeah. It's like the "where do you see yourself in five years" question. Some people like seeing ambition and a refusal to settle. Others will see any hint of ambition as evidence that you are gunning for their job specifically. There's also a lot who think being honest about needing money is bad. 1142
Zendervai @zendervai.bsky.social · 28/08/2026I just read It Was Her House First by Cherie Priest and while I wasn't exactly sure what to expect going in, I loved it. I'm in a very high book reading volume right now, but this one's gonna stand out and I'm absolutely going to revisit it. @cheriepriest.com 130
Zendervai @zendervai.bsky.social · 25/07/2026I think what grosses me out so much about stuff like Bremmer's bullshit here is that it tries to completely erase the concept of culpability. Musk destroyed USAID entirely on purpose. Trying to get around that means erasing Musk as a person and acting like it was an act of nature. 120
Zendervai @zendervai.bsky.social · 25/06/2026I think there's an argument that the backlash is proof that it *is* working. LGBTQ+ people being seen as normal and present is an existential nightmare for the worst people in the world, so they're freaking out and trying desperately to prevent it, and in most cases, it's way too late. 2146
Zendervai @zendervai.bsky.social · 23/06/2026This is a pretty good example of the issues with these lists. Yes, I really dislike the current state of AI and LLM technology. They have uses, legitimate ones, but they’re fueling one of the biggest economic bubbles in history and they’re being advertised with stuff like “AI will take your job” 110

Zendervai @zendervai.bsky.social · 20/06/2026The trick seems to be that anonymity (but with a consistent pseudonym) frees people up from having to be performative. They’re more likely to act like how they really are. With the IRL name, the horrible performative behaviour is more likely to carry over. 150
Zendervai @zendervai.bsky.social · 23/05/2026So, after thinking about it for a while, I picked up a couple of @tkingfisher.com books and finished off the Twisted Ones last night. It was maybe a bad idea to read it until 1am, but I really, really enjoyed it. And my cat kept sitting where she could see the pages, so I think she liked it too. 270
Zendervai @zendervai.bsky.social · 21/02/2026So I've been playing the Silent Hill 2 remake and a youtube video started up at the exact funniest time. Here's my approximation of what happened. It's not really a spoiler. 000
Zendervai @zendervai.bsky.social · 17/02/2026So...I see this article talking about a fantasy series that's being ignored and I look because I like a lot of obscure things that failed for various reasons. Turns out this is a Daily Wire show, the article starts with saying Joe Rogan likes it and then tries to shame readers for not watching. 120
Zendervai @zendervai.bsky.social · 04/05/2025I think I just came up with a term that describes how Trump and the GOP behaves. It's "Tasmanian Devil Politics". It's just anger and rage and mindless destruction because they can't comprehend anything but blind loyalty, and anyone who questions anything is seen as an enemy or traitor. 042

Zendervai @zendervai.bsky.social · 10/12/2024The hiccup, IMO, is that without government regulation, you rapidly get schools that just exist to make money or schools that are in no way designed to encourage post-secondary education. There are schools under the existing voucher systems that never have anyone go to university from them. 120

Zendervai @zendervai.bsky.social · 11/11/2024youtu.be/p9m3LOUzZs4?... Trying out Overman King Gainer, and it's pretty fun so far. Apparently it was inspired by the French novel series that was the original inspiration of the comic Snowpiercer was based on, so that's cool.youtu.beOverman King-Gainer OP (HQ) (Non-Credit)YouTube video by ElizabethKillelay 020

Zendervai @zendervai.bsky.social · 06/10/2024I think what people tend to not tell you about severe burnout is that it makes it significantly harder to actually accomplish anything that would help you escape the burnout. My particular flavour also comes with extreme difficulty sleeping which is...fun because it just makes it worse every day. 290
