When I look at modern Chinese desktop Linux distros, it catches my attention that they support architectures that are, at the very least, exotic. RISC-V, LoongArch... It feels like they knew something about the future that I don't.

I don't understand why GNOME Software tells me that Musescore, installed from Flathub, "is no longer receiving updates, including security fixes". The latest Flatpak was released 2 weeks ago. I thought that it could be because it depended on an outdated runtime, but it's KDE 6.9

I wish Linux distributions made printer support optional during installation. "No printer has been detected. Would you like a printing service in the background anyway?" Yes, I might need a printer someday. No, What's a printer? Is that like a rotary phone?

The bad thing about Ubuntu Snap Store being a joke at security, is that it gives Linux as a whole an undeserved bad image. The good part is that the ones being stolen, yet again, are cryptobros.

Much like humans, CPUs heal in their sleep.
CPUs are *technically* replaceable / wear items. They don’t last forever.
Yet, the moment stress is removed, transistor degradation (partially) reverses. It's called Bias Temperature Instability (BTI) recovery:

I just read someone say "$distro is based on Debian, so it's very stable". I find that logic very funny, because during the Linux Live CD fever, there were new distros based on Debian every few days, and many didn't survive an apt dist-upgrade without breaking. Some virtues aren't inherited.
