zaniel @zaneis.moe · 08/08/2026either way, your rage is valid and if RA was nuked tomorrow with zero backup i don't think it'd be an appreciable loss whatsoever. i like it incentivizing me to play more old stuff, but i don't like how it incentivizes you to do it, if that makes sense. 000
zaniel @zaneis.moe · 08/08/2026some good examples i think would be the obvious "do something insanely specific", but other things like how the DDR games require you to pass every song, on every difficulty, individually. you can't just do the hardest, you have to play every song 4 times minimum. 100
zaniel @zaneis.moe · 08/08/2026as someone who kinda uses retroachievements, you are absolutely spitting and talk your shit queen i will say as someone who likes using it as a kind of progress tracker/"oh hey you did something cool", i feel like the site a lot of times does not cater to people like me, but mostly massive nerds. 100

zaniel @zaneis.moe · 25/06/2026spoony you've always been one of, if not my favorite video creators of all time, and honestly your influence is completely and utterly insane and something you should be proud of. i'm so sorry that your mental health has been like this for so long, and i hope this isn't truly the end. 010
zaniel @zaneis.moe · 22/06/2026navy will forever be one of the coolest people I’ve met online. i always respected their dedication to throwing themselves fully into anything they loved, from music games, to anime, to film and television. it still doesn’t feel real that i won’t be able to talk movies with them anymore. rip. 140

zaniel @zaneis.moe · 30/03/2026any time a positive story comes up about Charles Barkley I just think about Shirley Wang’s story for WBUR back in 2018 about how he just met her dad at a hotel bar and they became close friends, just like that. www.wbur.org/onlyagame/20...wbur.orgMy Dad's Friendship With Charles BarkleyShirley Wang's father, Lin, was on a business trip when he ran into NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley. zaniel @zaneis.moe · 13/11/2025yeah like, there’s so much stuff that you look at it and whether there’s bpm fuckery or just Nothing Going On or what have you, it wouldn’t make a good chart lol 010
zaniel @zaneis.moe · 13/11/2025bsky.app/profile/atom... my definition of “steppable” isn’t “can you make a chart to this”, but rather “should you make a chart to this”. obviously most things with a beat you /can/ chart, but i don’t think it would lead to a good or interesting chart. 110
