Latino history is American history. For centuries, Latino communities have helped shape this country, and today, the more than 60 million Latinos continue to "help fuel our economy and enrich our nation as entrepreneurs, athletes, artists, entertainers, scientists, public servants, and much more.”
A social media graphic with a orange to red gradient background and the list of Latin American countries in alphabetical order (Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Uruguay, and Venezuela) with the main text saying "Latinos have always been here and always will be."

Apparently my representative, @replamonica.bsky.social, is about to become the 16th woman ever to give birth while serving in Congress, which I think is pretty cool. Great to have lawmakers with direct experience of pregnancy, parental leave, and managing early parenting with a high-impact job.

Yes every woman has been harassed, many assaulted. But every woman has also experienced invisible loss from moments she avoided harassment. She felt a space becoming unsafe, so she left, while men stayed on. And in leaving, she lost: opportunities, experiences, learning, promotions, even simply fun.
