English dub companies should stop putting money and effort into dubbing isekai shows and move that budget into dubbing otome games instead :)

Finished the first Hakuoki anime series, just have the prequel left. Objectively good series with great pacing and emotional moments, but the demon stuff and the Shinsengumi history felt at odds with each other and I wished Chizuru wasn't just an emotional support dog.

Yuisdad @yuisdad.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

"I wish anime dubs didn't try to sound like the Japanese voice acting" blame weebs for being pedantic about dubs in the first place.

LPSTube fans might hate me for this, but I actually like the g4 toys. Yes, some of them look off or even ugly, but I fuck with the stylization and their penguins give me cuteness aggression. I still prefer the 2005-2012 and g7 pets of course.

Cupid Parasite should've just been the otome game equivalent of The Loony Tunes Show.

000

Yuisdad @yuisdad.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

I'm surprised that Hakuoki is as popular as it is yet no other otome game in recent years has taken notes to give the characters slightly different pale skin tones from one another.

000

Yuisdad @yuisdad.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

Why do I slightly prefer G3 Clawdeen over G1 Clawdeen? *Remembers G3 Clawdeen is voiced by a black woman and G1 Clawdeen isn't* Oh, that's why.

I wished that the Hakuoki cast weren't based on real people because I probably would've gotten into it a lot had they been original characters. They look nothing like their real life counterparts anyway, so what's the point?

000

Yuisdad @yuisdad.bsky.social · 13/08/2026

Anytime there's an otome game where the true end wraps up the other love interests' plotlines, I wonder why the game didn't just have one route. (Looks at Collar Malice, Code Realize and Tengoku Struggle Strayside)

Looking at Idea Factory International's otome game catalogue makes me wish that they'd dub their otome games like they do with their other games... No I will not shut up about it because THEY WORK WITH A DUBBING STUDIO!

What do you mean an otome game based on Cinderella where a city is cursed to be stuck in glass and those who live in said city have to wear a glass item until midnight or else they turn into glass themselves is incredibly mid?!

If someone made a Brothers Conflict rewrite that starts off as a typical family sitcom but becomes an exploration of how incest affects Ema's mental state, I'll kiss them on the mouth.

Some otome game fans: We should've gatekept the community because normies don't know how to act! Me: Some of you guys thirst over fictional incest and inappropriate age gaps. The call is coming from inside the house.

I hope the otome game community doesn't throw me into the sun for saying that I'm not a huge seiyuu fan.

Is this a safe space to admit that Cleo's 1st core outfit from G1 Monster High was kinda meh?

000

Yuisdad @yuisdad.bsky.social · 25/06/2026

It kinda fucks with me that Norn9 has 9 ability users in reference to the title, yet there are 12 (13 counting Sorata) main characters. You'd think there would be 2 love interests for each MC, but they decided on three instead.

000

Yuisdad @yuisdad.bsky.social · 23/06/2026

Why is Hibari from Variable Barricade 17 when the love interests range from 20-26? Just make her 18 at that point.

Yuisdad @yuisdad.bsky.social · 14/06/2026

Some otome game fans: “Otome games are written with a heterosexual romance in mind, so asking for lgbt representation is weird.” Me: The MC sometimes has her fucking brother as a love interest, but making a bisexual/pansexual/transman/etc. love interest is asking for too much?

000

Yuisdad @yuisdad.bsky.social · 13/06/2026

I just realized that Mistonia's Hope only features white people in the cast.

010

Yuisdad @yuisdad.bsky.social · 11/06/2026

It confounds me how otome games such as Norn9, 9 R.I.P., and Charade Maniacs have 9 love interests and all of them are the same pale shade. I can thankfully tell who’s who, but would it kill the artist to give some of them darker skin tones (THAT AREN’T GREY!)?

010

Yuisdad @yuisdad.bsky.social · 11/06/2026

Whenever I see some Birushana fans responding to the incest with "learn to separate fiction from reality" I'm like "THE CHARACTERS ARE BASED ON REAL PEOPLE, THE FUCK DO YOU MEAN BY SEPARATING FICTION FROM A GAME HEAVILY INSPIRED BY REALITY?!"
