The specification is not a document. This is a long one. I’m trying to work through what the durable artifact of software becomes when code is cheap to regenerate, and what that means for documentation, production evidence, decisions, evaluations, and provenance.

'Reinvented' here could be read as embedding (mandatory) tokenization into the user-interface of the operating system and for day-to-day interaction with (online) services and applications. I suspect a push for micro-payments through agentic interaction and tokenization.

That is also method for making AI profitable; tokenization of the user- input and interface.

One step further in defining a #SDLC for an event driven architecture using open standards and specifications like #jsonschema #cloudevents #asyncapi Experimenting how good agents and tooling can generate code artifacts using models: JSON schema, CloudEvent definitions and a registry. So far 👌🏻

How do we ensure that the gatekeepers of tomorrow earn and keep our trust? If they’re really coming (and we think they probably are), how do we shape them to support us rather than shape us? More on what happens to social technology “After the Feed” here: newpublic.org/afterthefeed
Light background with teal "The New New Gatekeepers" label. Text reads "These agentic interfaces are becoming the medium for social life and information online" (with teal text for "medium for social life and information online"). Below states "They respond with everything you need to know, curated for you, in the format you prefer" (with teal text for "curated for you").

"Agentic Interface Era" box: Content/data/systems optimized for agent attention, Content and conversation summarized or transformed by AI, AI creating content at inhuman speed and scale, AI in foreground summarizing/remixing/sharing.

A similair effect could occur around development of open-source software. As there is less incentive to build and support new libraries and frameworks, this effectively could wither the whole ecosystem. Feels like a recursive effect, reinforcing current state and uptake of closed source.

As individual/company I am fine to build upon abstractions or take dependencies on 3rd parties that are stable and sustainable. However if ourselves, we (at scale) generate, depend and build abstractions/systems we don't understand anymore, but still need to maintain, we set ourselves up for failure.

LLM code gen is allergic to software design. It's a side-effect of limited context - drives it to primitive obsession and a bunch of other smelly designs. You can navigate it to good outcomes, but it's very reflective of the difference between "scripts" and "software" if you don't pay attention.
