Saw the Yoko Ono retrospective at the Broad (long o!) museum. Enjoyed it. It was excellent. Inspiring. Lots of fun in the third floor galleries, too.

Headed over to the Broad Museum in a few to see the Yoko Ono retrospective, then way back over to the Getty for the "Movable Feast of NO" with Adele Bertei, Ikue Mori, Ezster Balint, Bush Tetras, and a host of other luminaries. Took my vitamins.

I was an inept traveler today. It has been a long time since I interfaced with these systems. Fortunately, there were professionals on hand at every bungled step of the way to steer me right and ensure that I reached my destination.

"When a statue is erected to the association of ideas, the angel of the bizarre will invent the art of billiards." Pierre Unik / Louis Aragon (A post here about LLMs suddenly made me recall this surrealist word game result that I read 40 yrs. ago in Marcel Jean's "History of Surrealist Painting".)

Saw "The History of Concrete" at Cinema 21. Enjoyed it. I'm sure others have mentioned that it's rather in the tradition of "Sherman's March". A couple truly brilliant tie-ups at the end.

I heard an ad for beef on the radio and it’s funny the industry feels the need to sell that to anyone in the USA in 2026. I think everyone has heard of and has considered beef at this point.

For a long time I've wanted a sense of how trump has or hasn't interacted with chatbots (we know he posts a lot of slop sure). And this TIME anecdote about Grok arguably leading Trump into war is just extremely bracing
Since returning to office, Trump has marveled at AI’s capabilities. He is increasingly in thrall to the tech executives courting him. In December 2025, Elon Musk returned to the Oval Office for a clandestine meeting. Trump spent hours asking Grok, Musk’s AI chatbot, questions about his presidency and legacy, according to an official present. At the time, Trump was ordering missile strikes against Venezuelan boats he alleged were smuggling drugs into the U.S. He asked Grok how Venezuelans would react if the U.S. captured Maduro. According to the official present, the chatbot responded that Maduro was a repressive and deeply unpopular dictator and that many Venezuelans would likely celebrate his downfall. After Trump ordered the mission to seize Maduro, the following month, celebrations broke out in the streets. Trump, according to officials, came away thinking Grok was ingenious.

🧠 If you ask a chatbot about the midterms, there's a good chance they'll refer you to a lot of "pink slime." The term refers to low-quality websites that masquerade as legitimate local news outlets but in reality are often partisan-backed & AI-created with a lack of real journalists & standards.
