When we feel we have no direct route to transfer our rage against hateful leaders, it is far too easy to turn that rage against the people around or close to you. But you have to remember who makes this possible. Organize against them. Not your ally or loved ones who want to help you.

Therapists are burned out. Doctors are dying. Children and families are scared and lost. Mental health distress is rising. This is not the time to divest from care.

We are witnessing the collapse of care systems across the country. As philanthropy pulls back, numerous non profits supporting the mental health & social services of Black & Latino communities are closing their doors.

Be aggressive to these systems and policies—and softer on the people trying to organize and be accountable beside you.

Reminder: You are trying to pay bills, organize communities and remember to drink water during a time of massive social and spiritual collapse and violence. Give yourself grace if you don’t get it all right.

It’s really wild how much terror and trauma in this world we are taught to normalize

Yolo Akili Robinson @yoloakili.bsky.social · 01/09/2026
They are counting on us to “just get used to it.” Don’t normalize this shit.

Yolo Akili Robinson @yoloakili.bsky.social · 01/09/2026
The most pressing mental health interventions today are structural. To truly cultivate collective well being, we have to fight against these trauma producing systems and policies that allow ICE, economic exploitation, food contamination and unfit leadership to continue to plague our world.

THERE IS NO REASON FOR THIS VIOLENCE OR FOR THIS IMAGINARY ISSUE. IT IS UNACCEPTABLE. Pierre Damas Bell is one more victim of a murderous campaign targeting Haitians, Latinos & immigrants of all backgrounds—a campaign rooted in hatred, immaturity, ignorance and incompetence.

Black people often don’t talk about Disability the same way white folks do and Black folks even when disabled, are not seen and held in our disabilities the way white folks are. Any discourse that dismisses that and wants us to center European frameworks is racist at its core.

Yolo Akili Robinson @yoloakili.bsky.social · 28/08/2026
Black masculinity often has a double consciousness. The lineage of style, care, and protection is often contrasted with the lineage of entitlement, secrecy— and “I am a man” as an excuse for a lack of self control and integrity.

Yolo Akili Robinson @yoloakili.bsky.social · 28/08/2026
Black folks, the ancestor work isn’t just with our Indigenous African Ancestors. It’s with the European ancestry too. The conflicting colonizer legacy lives in many of us. Their trauma too was passed on to us. The more we contend with that legacy, the deeper and wider our medicine can become.

Healing work to be more grounded during conflict. Healing work to emotionally regulate with our allies. Healing work to assess when distress has distorted our perceptions. Not healing work to PACIFY, to normalize or acquiese- but Healing work to hold our movements together and grow the resistance.

Equipping communities with more tools to hold intergenerational healing spaces for grief and distress and to de-escalate mental health crises without cops isn’t woo-woo. It’s fortifying our communities for the fight ahead. It’s preparing us for the fallout of our systems. It’s abolition planning.

How do we become safer for one another while living in a world that is becoming increasingly unsafe for us?

Each time it becomes more unimaginable. Unfathomable. Cyclical white supremacist violence born from people who have murdered their own souls and then come for everyone else.

Music often reflects the times. And it’s so odd to be in this moment with all this racist violence and distress, and all we have is ass & booty poppin songs. Now I love to shake my ass; but you got wonder where are the artists using music to move us to action and resistance.

I blame the people who built this system. Everyone of them. To build a monster u knew could mutate into this- you are just as culpable.

The wounds of ICE & this fascist immigration system will last lifetimes. The grief of loss; families torn apart, little ones losing parents, tias, abuela’s. The anxiety of living under the threat of sudden kidnapping. ICE Camps giving babies drinking water filled with worms. There is no excuse.

Yolo Akili Robinson @yoloakili.bsky.social · 06/08/2026
We cannot heal the colonial wounds of the African Diaspora without centering Ayiti and Haitians in the core of our political and spiritual work. Any Global Black liberation effort that does not fight with Haitians can never claim to fight against Anti-Blackness.
042
Yolo Akili Robinson @yoloakili.bsky.social · 28/07/2026
To claim to care about Black liberation and be silent as Haitians across the world are targeted, violated and denigrated? Hypocrites. Every one of you.

You can agree with people in ideology but differ in terms of social behavior and how those ideologies are practiced. This is my nice way of saying u can think alike but that don’t mean ya’ll move the same.

In an time when fascism is growing in unmitigated rates; it’s so curious how little the music of the popular moment reflects this. Don’t get me wrong ima shake my ass- but where are the artists who are inspiring us to fight back with their music?

Colonizers keep punishing Haitians for being apart of a legacy that dared to make liberation real— and the Anti-Blackness across the diaspora colludes in silence to keep it going

It is very curious to me- the Organizations and leaders who claim to care about Black Liberation but have been silent as Haitians are being targeted and violated across the world.

Sometimes we have to sit with the grief and sadness and let it flow thru us. Cry out the times we couldn’t help someone more. Cry out the death and pain we haven’t been able to stop even as we have had to watch it everyday. Grieve to make space for the rage. Grieve to make space for the resistance

The air feels so heavy right now. Heavy with grief. Heavy with despair. Heavy with loss. So many people fighting against insurmountable obstacles. So many folks carrying emotional despair. Don’t let the social media performances delude you. For far too many, It’s a really difficult time.

At this point, I ain’t got nothing healing and loving to offer fam. We just need to run up in the streets. Without a permit. Because this is unacceptable at this stage of human existence. We all fucking know better.

everything we are seeing now is the consequence of having a political environment in which indifference to the deaths and suffering of other people - even by the state whose supposed responsibility is to safeguard their welfare - is a superpower rather than a political liability

A system truly rooted in rigor and accountability would never allow a dictator to rise. Only performative systems that sway ethically with the sunrise— sullied by the shadows of the unaccounted sins of their fathers can make this real. A grand disappointment to humanity.

Make no mistake, reparations and restoration has not been done, because most do no believe inherently that they did anything wrong. They believe they “won” - and it’s just life. They have no ethic that holds them to what their forefathers have done.

The spiritual institutions that taught Europeans to see themselves separate from nature, land and the cycles of spirit set the stage for the murderous rampage of colonization that continues today.

To hang children and celebrate it. To set humans on fire. No group in the world is more troubled then many of the descendants of Europe who are so disconnected and in pain they will murder and bleed all over us rather than face the deep generational distress in themselves

Yolo Akili Robinson @yoloakili.bsky.social · 01/04/2026
The early colonizers were never held accountable. The patterns they produced were never healed nor interrupted. Do u know what u have to be to hate the way they hated? To murder whole civilizations? Rape, kill children en masse? What do u have to become to do that?

Yolo Akili Robinson @yoloakili.bsky.social · 01/04/2026
European Americans need to find their culture. Whiteness was made to erase ur identity. You have a heritage beyond consumption. Need to learn from the grandmothers & elders of Italy, Spain, Ireland, Britain- those who still hold vestiges of ur lineage that are connected to land and spirit.

Yolo Akili Robinson @yoloakili.bsky.social · 01/04/2026
Until the descendants of Europe in the Americas heal the lineage of murder, racism, death and colonization in themselves and their communities- this cycle of denial and delusion will continue on for infinity.
