End of the day, but here is my #BirdOfTheDay: #Mamas&Papas submission. Back in July I was visiting a nearby breeding spot for #Kingfishers regularly. These two brought up a 3 nests. During this photo the second younglings hadn't even fledged yet, but they were already working on the next batch. 🪶

Last Saturday morning I went to look at the nearby #kingfisher breeding spot after the 3rd had fledged. I went out to spot the #SolarEclipse at #ParkSchothorst tonight! We had a 87,96% coverage during maximum. A few sun spots were also visible. A lot of people came out to the field. It was a nice cozy atmosphere and I could show some people the live image on my camera and answer some Q's. #Amersfoort

Around 10 minutes before the maximum eclipse. A large portion of the sun is covered, some sunspots can be seen on the surface.

2 minutes before maximum, the last visible sunspot is about to be covered by the lunar disc.

Maximum eclipse at Amersfoort, the Netherlands at 87,96%.

The field was very dry and the temperature quite high, but many people came out to this field next to the park Schothorst to catch a glimpse. I got to answer a few questions and show the live image on my camera to some interested people.

Last week I went out with a buddy to National Park de Hoge Veluwe to sit in some birding huts while the temperatures outside hit 32°C. It's been a rough day. At 2.45am, Desdemona (Dezzie) passed away. Her body paralyzed from the waist to her hind legs, and quickly after her front legs gave out too.. She's been sent off to be resomated. It's also very hard to explain to a 4 year old that our kitty is no longer coming back.
