More than ever, it’s crucial to attend and support local independent comics and library-organized book festivals!! Fan expos and mainstream Comic Cons really aren’t about comics (or even art) anymore: they’re mostly celebrity autograph meat-markets and major fandom gatherings.

I finished RED SNARE's website design. That was fast. Pleasantly surprised myself. 😂

Website design.... is not one of my greatest strengths, but I figured out some things to make a clean finish with this. I'll come back to OIYD! someday when I'm able to wrap RED SNARE, then... hmm.

'tis the season of art prompt lists. i made my own list for OC-tober this year! 🎨 have fun with it. feel free to do as much or as little as you want, repeat the same prompts multiple times, combine with other lists, whatever is fun for you! #OC-tober #OC-tober2026 #OCsky

TITLE: OC-Tober Art Prompts
Description: it's OC-tober, the perfect excuse to spend the whole month drawing your
original characters. you can approach these prompts with whatever degree
of seriousness and effort you want. this isn't a legally binding list of obligations,
it's just ideas to get the gears turning!
the list: • finish an unfinished piece (maybe even more than one)
• design a new character, or finish an unfinished design
• rework a character design that needs some polish
• design a movie poster or a magazine cover
• draw a single-page comic or short storyboard
• draw your OCs in an alternate universe
• draw your OCs in another art style
• find a blank art meme/challenge to do
• draw something you find difficult, using your OC
• draw an OC at a different age than you usually do
• redraw a scene from a movie or TV show with OCs
• draw an OC cosplaying one of the characters that
inspired their design
• redraw a childhood drawing of an OC
• draw two OCs interacting who you haven't before
• play with alternate color palettes
Footnote: re-interpret however you want or combine with other lists! the only
rules are have fun, take care of your wrists, and don't use AI.

Now would be a very good time to get a comicfury page up and running, especially if you don't have your own site. And also throw them some money for continuing to be the one good webcomic platform. www.patreon.com/comicfury

tbh i don't think that all doujin or indie comic events *have* to be for all topics, all genres, original and fanart. in japan there are many events that are original only, single fandom only, etc etc... but i do believe that the "anything goes" nature of comiket shaped doujin culture for the better

Recently played sovereign tower and it has engulfed my thoughts for a week. Such a fascinating cast of characters. Though I was tormented thru my first playthrough, I'm still in awe. I can't truly hate anyone ....except Tarcus probably. Also Arron best boy. I would give this kid a carrot. 🐲

Marius is the type of guy who want to read historical romance novels in peace, but is unable to attend fan meetups due to his monthly commitments. Such a rough world. 😔 For Rhea, she has favorites all over the litterary gamut. Her personal reconmendations are sci-fi and thrillers. 🐺📚

Tuyết Nhi / YTN 🌿🌊 @yieldingtides.bsky.social · 21/08/2026

Also a 4koma continuing Marius's own taste with his prefered book genres... Today's his B-Day btw. #webcomics #indiecomics

Panel 1:
Rhea: Oh hey, Marius. Checking out? If you're a book, I'd check you out no question.

[Marius is visibly annoyed]

Panels 2:
Rhea: May I see your library card as well? So I can check you out twice as much?

Marius: Quit sayin' yer comments or I'll file a complaint.

Panel 3:
Rhea: By the by, may I recommend The Sea Breeze Hotel by M. Huggins?

[Marius stops a moment, then turns his head]

Panel 4:
Rhea: It's a regency romance with a love triangle sub plot. You like those, right?

Marius: PUT IT ON HOLD.

Some updates about RED SNARE issue 2! Still in production but updates will be on my patreon! #webcomics #indiecomics

Hello! Progress on RED SNARE issue #2 is still underway! Inks are posted on Patreon when I can. This summer was productive, but not at the point I’ll be releasing the next part at its expected date. So issue 2 may be pushed back until the near end of the year or early 2027.

However, RED SNARE will be having a webcomic release sometime in late October this year.

Webcomics has been my home for over a decade, and having a dedicated site for this story was always a part of the journey. Especially for my friends who live out of the US. I want my work to be accessible for all, and monetary means are secondary towards that.

Of course, you can read ahead by having a physical copy of RS Issue One in person at Vault of Midnight GR or Argos Comics (if you’re local to Grand Rapids) or when my online shop is open once again. For digital readers, you can have digital PDF downloads of my comic on my itch.io too!

And don’t worry, non-US folks. I have a way to get physical copies out via ACGGOODS. More news about that in the future when all prep work is done!

I still appreciate everyone who bought an issue or downloaded my work. I would not be making this comic without the support of my fellow peers, friends, and loved ones. It was really a joy making this comic to the fullest.

Thanks again!

Tuyết Nhi / YTN 🌿🌊 @yieldingtides.bsky.social · 11/08/2026

This includes the AI integration on webtoon. It bites. 😭 I probably will not publish RED SNARE on that platform.

Tuyết Nhi / YTN 🌿🌊 @yieldingtides.bsky.social · 11/08/2026

LRT It's getting harder for webcomic folks to express the full breath of ideas through webhosting platforms like webtoons or tapas. Not all are bad (like comicfury), but something to keep in mind when someone wants to post on those platforms and has to face restrictions.

Please, if you're still reading any webcomics hosted on webtoon (which creators aren't stuck on exclusivity contracts, I guess), try finding where else their creators are posting and switch to reading there Webtoon is one of the worst things that happened to webcomics scene

Finished some illus of the RED SNARE cast! Will show the full images later this month and info about these guys, but here's a preview... Rhea: www.patreon.com/yieldingtide... Marius: www.patreon.com/yieldingtide...

Two images depict Rhea giving an upward look with a slight smirk covered in blood on the left. On the right, Marius appears disturbed. Blood smeared on the right side of his face.

How comics actually work: some pages take an hour and some pages take eight hours and they're not always the ones you'd think. There are sometimes entire weeks taken up by research that MUST be completed before you can progress. And you also must account for several days lost to the Horrors

this is what artfight feels like to me

edited “they don’t know i’m (blank)” meme showing people dancing at a party with a guy in the corner holding a cup and a party hat. i’ve edited it so that he’s smiling mischievously, standing at a desk with a drawing tablet and a pen in his other hand. the text next to him says “they don’t know i’m drawing their ocs”
