Description: it's OC-tober, the perfect excuse to spend the whole month drawing your
original characters. you can approach these prompts with whatever degree

the list: • finish an unfinished piece (maybe even more than one)
• design a new character, or finish an unfinished design
• rework a character design that needs some polish

tbh i don't think that all doujin or indie comic events *have* to be for all topics, all genres, original and fanart. in japan there are many events that are original only, single fandom only, etc etc... but i do believe that the "anything goes" nature of comiket shaped doujin culture for the better

Recently played sovereign tower and it has engulfed my thoughts for a week. Such a fascinating cast of characters. Though I was tormented thru my first playthrough, I'm still in awe. I can't truly hate anyone ....except Tarcus probably. Also Arron best boy. I would give this kid a carrot. 🐲

Hello! Progress on RED SNARE issue #2 is still underway! Inks are posted on Patreon when I can. This summer was productive, but not at the point I’ll be releasing the next part at its expected date. So issue 2 may be pushed back until the near end of the year or early 2027.

However, RED SNARE will be having a webcomic release sometime in late October this year.

Webcomics has been my home for over a decade, and having a dedicated site for this story was always a part of the journey. Especially for my friends who live out of the US. I want my work to be accessible for all, and monetary means are secondary towards that.

Of course, you can read ahead by having a physical copy of RS Issue One in person at Vault of Midnight GR or Argos Comics (if you’re local to Grand Rapids) or when my online shop is open once again. For digital readers, you can have digital PDF downloads of my comic on my itch.io too!

And don’t worry, non-US folks. I have a way to get physical copies out via ACGGOODS. More news about that in the future when all prep work is done!

I still appreciate everyone who bought an issue or downloaded my work. I would not be making this comic without the support of my fellow peers, friends, and loved ones. It was really a joy making this comic to the fullest.

LRT It's getting harder for webcomic folks to express the full breath of ideas through webhosting platforms like webtoons or tapas. Not all are bad (like comicfury), but something to keep in mind when someone wants to post on those platforms and has to face restrictions.

One thing about “breaking into comics” is that unless you mean “I want to be so famous I never need to look for a gif and/or have full autonomy to do whatever I want and be paid for it,” you can do it right now. Just draw a comic and print it out. Get a table at a small local comic fest.

For me the whole point of doing what I'm doing-art is a way of processing life. I don't see the value in outsourcing any element of that.

When I'm looking at someone else's project, if I see an element of the environment [where] they use generative fill or whatever to change something about the scene, it just shuts off the part of my brain that wants to know more about that world. Because I would assume if they're willing to make an arbitrary choice there, they could make an arbitrary choice with literally anything.

LRT As a person who works in education, the tech kids are working with are totes more overwhelming compared to a decade ago. I've seen and heard accounts from students who struggle writing paragraphs on paper because they dont have the hand eye coordination. It's a different ball park.
