5 October, "Smack" Apparently there is a family of smaller, sail-powered fishing vessels called 'smack' which is great because I didn't want to deal with motion, butts, spoons, or lips. This is based on an image of the Boadicea, ostensibly the oldest active […] [Original post on mastodon.social]
A single mast three sail boat with the silhouettes of four people. The sails are a deep rust red from a common treatment traditionally used for this sort of ship. IT has green trim on the sides. The fellow with a cup of coffee in near the front accidentally ended up with a bodacious butt. I will not apologize.

4 October, "Cactus" Kind of a struggle, I had a specific reference picture and tried a few different styles and went with watercolor and a ZIG Mangaka 01 pigment pen. I wonder if I'll like it more tomorrow? #Inktober #Inktober2026
A cactus pad with four flower buds on it, one of which has opened. It's based on cacti seen at Anza Borrego state park, the closed flowers were a dusky pink and the open one a vivid magenta, but uh...I'm pretty new to watercolor.

Trying to prep a bunch of long-retired computers for a big e-waste pickup and found a computer that predates my time at the company, went to pull the HDD for separate storage or disposal and found a lovely copper heatsink. Might need to clean it up and use it as a steampunk paperweight.
A heatsink held in a hand. Unlike contemporary aluminum ones this one is several copper sheets with a pipe jutting out. Absolutely filthy. There is a trashcan, boxes and part of a shoe in the background of the image because this photographer ignores solid rules of framing a shot believing composition to be a bourgeois affectation.

A tabby cat with a prominent brown splotch on his snout stares directly at the camera with his pupils dilated. He is partially obscured by shadow from the seat of a wooden chair and the posts and crossbeams of said chair. That he is innocent of every crime he has ever been accused of, but do not believe this cat. He is criminally cute.
