Wandered to a nearby park to practice "sighting perspective" and had a 102 year old woman take a break from her wander through the botanical garden and sit and chat with me for a bit. Really lovely to get outside.

Trying to prep a bunch of long-retired computers for a big e-waste pickup and found a computer that predates my time at the company, went to pull the HDD for separate storage or disposal and found a lovely copper heatsink. Might need to clean it up and use it as a steampunk paperweight.

My bf doing a whole-ass photoshoot in the kitchen with the cat, who was busy laying across the volume and playback controls on my keyboard, while I attempted to get the dishes done. Hard to stay mad when I saw the results tho [also the dishes are done]

It remains baffling to me that Milo''s safe space is in the kitchen sink (especially when it's wet).

I'm trying to decide if I should interpret this as "even the goodest doggos could be a threat" or "if we put a picture of a rabid bully dog we would get SO many complaints, so we did this instead." And the mail isn't even addressed to our house, the OCR at the Post Office saw a 12 and thought 17.

[Alcohol] I have some concerns about the state of the world.

A bottle of liquor priced at 61.99USD it bears the brands Empirical and Doritos and informs the viewer that it it is a limited collaboration of Doritos-inflected alcohol. It is flanked on either side by other, normal bottles of alcohol. You stare at this horrid homage to Millennial gamer culture and wonder if you're meant to mix it with Mountain Dew. You shake off the thought and lament the sure signs of societal collapse and trundle along the aisle to consumer other, less inauspicious things.

Driving on the southbound 405 feels a bit surreal today. (Near the Hawthorne exit). I wonder if they were up at Camarillo today.

It's been a minute (several) since I broke out the dip pens and did any pointed pen #Calligraphy. My flourishing is still just as meh as the last time I worked on it, but overall happy with the gift tags.

Tried to fold some laundry while the cats were dozing in another room. As soon as I started separating it out, they got up just long enough to get on the bed and fall asleep in the middle of my work area. Perhaps #mosstodon is a better use of my focus today. Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park in Felton, CA (just outside of Santa Cruz). I went here a lot as a kid, but never went into the higher trails where the redwoods gave way to sand chaparral and incredible views of the bay through forested valleys.

The foreground right of the picture is a tree trunk so thoroughly covered with moss that the bark is not visible. Some of the moss fans out in almost fern-like fronds from the surface of tree while some lies like a shaggy green carpet over it, in some places the moss takes on a muddy red color.

In the background blue sky is visible in a tangle of trees, out of focus. And another tree trunk angles sharply out of frame. It is similarly covered with moss.
