Which I mean, thats usually the case with game jams (having a lot of not so great entries to filter through) but the ease of use of AI really exacerbated the issue by making it so much easier for people to just dump lazily made slop into these things.

Though technically a game with some vibe coding or AI art could still win if its generally good enough and not purely AI generated lazy slop, its still unlikely because at least from what I can tell most games submitted so far are either pure slop or completely "hand made".

From what I know facepuncy will override the popular vote if theres suspicion of it being from botted players (which the AI slop games most likely do). The chances of pure slop winning the jam are very low.

Isnt the standalone games feature more akin to being a shortcut to open roblox games? Like downloading a web app for your phone from your browser rather than like actually downloading the game itself?

And no, it doesn't mean Garry necessarily agrees with it. I worked and studied with plenty of folks who had different beliefs than me or our higher-ups. sure, sometimes theres some awkward small talk when politics are brought up but it isn't everything in life and generally skill is more important.

And then just the dev tools yourself for a little bit and see if you like them. If you do? keep the game. If you dont? Just refund it. (Yeah just having 4 hours to test out a game engine is a bit iffy but hey it has a lot of promise)

S&box is pretty good. But the workflow itself isnt exactly a "source 2 sdk", its doing its own thing based on source 2, and its doing it well. Id recommend you give it a try and see how you vibe with it. Maybe see some of the good quality games (those by facepunch, small fish, etc...),

The leaked script doesn't mention any creatures from the games, it looks like they're doing fully original monsters. But it also still looks really promising, both from the script and this trailer.

Eh, I read some of the leaked script and yeah outside of taking place in its own version of racoon city and having a company named umbrella be in it, it doesn't really connect to RE in any major way and could've easily been its own thing. HOWEVER it still looks really really good regardless.

Luckily at least they have proper systems to protect their civilian populations (bomb shelters in apartments and most public parks so you always have somewhere to go, air raid sirens, they even have an app that tells them how much time they have to get to shelter and what the threat is)
