More than 13,000 people were seen sleeping rough on the streets of London in 2024/25 - the highest on record. This is almost 4x higher than 15 years ago, in 2008/2009, and a 10% increase in just 12 months.

The government cannot balance the books on the backs of sick and Disabled people. We welcome the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan's intervention and the growing opposition from MPs to the government's proposed £5bn cuts to health and sickness benefits.

London boroughs overspent their homelessness budgets by *£330m* this year, because of the housing crisis. With 180,000 London households in temporary accommodation, the human cost of the crisis is clear. This London Councils data lays bare the financial impact, with councils at risk of bankruptcy.
