Kinda glad I stopped using Flexibits products, now that they put personal data through Anthropic’s servers. (I plan to switch to Linux, so I waned myself off of 3rd party tools a lot. But this would have been a reason to cancel anyway. The email reminded me that I need to close my account.)
Dear Flexibits customer,
We are writing to let you know about the following update to our list of subprocessors we use for Flexibits services:
• We added Anthropic (San Francisco, CA)
• We added Slack Technologies (San Francisco, CA)

Fareterribly, @1password.
Screenshot of the customer form with the following text:

Dear 1Password team. I have been a supporter of your product for many, many years. This will end this month.

I cannot fathom that you are supporting Omarchy and David Heinemeier Hansson, who believes that black and brown people should be removed from London and that Sinti and Roma are compared to wolfes that need to be hunted in Europe.

As a German, it is intolerable dehumanizing speech. We have been there before. We must learn from our history and not support individuals who hold these beliefs. And we cannot in good conscience support supporters of individuals who hold these beliefs.

I thought 1Password was better. But you chose to support these views, which are widely known.

As somebody with ADHD and a chaotic brain, when writing blog posts or documentation, I have a tendency to go off topic or down rabbit holes. I end up on enough tangents and with enough content that the blog post feels bloated, and it’s not always clear what point I’m trying to make.

Also, this process is exhausting. What starts out as a blog post which should take a couple of hours to write can take me days or weeks to get something into a state where I’m happy with it. If you want a glimpse into the chaos of my brain, looking at my drafts folder, I currently have 34 part-written blog posts. Some have been part-written for so long that I’ll probably never publish them, because the stuff I wrote is unlikely to still be relevant or interesting.

Comment by yatil, yesterday 10:43pm – I know someone who overstepped its usefulness, and that’s you, Matt. Do you really think this is how to lead? Do you think this is how to encourage voluntary participants? Why anyone, especially my esteemed colleagues from the accessibility community is still putting time into what is an open source product by name only is beyond me. Don’t you see the impact of this program and how it helped people adopt WordPress? How many organizations could only use it because of the proven accessibility-readiness? Maybe you don’t give a shit and are tired of pretending. But boy, oh boy, I’m sure other people are also tired.

I must say it’s interesting how the WAI header icons went from W3C making the standards, WAI gives you the tools to make your stuff accessible, You create. To: W3C: Book. WAI: Unrecognizable tools. You: Screen. Not saying that the initial icons can’t be […] [Original post on yatil.social]
The icon for W3C shows a book with pages, it is quite detailed, as are W3C standards. The WAI icon shows a hammer and a wrench. You show a computer screen with a browser with a stylized HTML tag in it.W3C now only has a book, one page black, one page white, and very abstract. For WAI the hammer has become a screwdriver, so you have a wrench and a screwdriver, which is great. No nails anymore. The wrench is also heavily obscured. And then You is just a very generic monitor icon as you would find it in any icon set.

No. easyVision provides assistive features, but does not replace an accessible implementation according to WCAG.
