In Command at E3 1998: Westwood Studio and Dune 2000's demo booth, as sufficiently grungy as the game's UI itself. One of my favourite remasters in all but name. And very cool to see it presented like this. 💿: PC-X December 1998 (IA)

Another classic, not sure if I've already posted this one here.

Several weeks ago, Phil Tippett's legendary animation studio in Berkeley, CA closed. An anonymous hero noticed a folder of CDs. This turned out to be hundreds of unseen hi-res images and videos from Star Wars, Robocop, Jurassic Park, etc. ~90 isos for you to browse: archive.org/details/tipp...

Just watched this with the family, we loved it. A lovely, unconventional docudrama about the life of Paula Modersohn-Becker, the greatest unknown (or recently rediscovered) expressionist painter (there should be a word for lady painters... paintress, paintrix?) strongly recommend. 📽

Wow. I only had a pirated version with no handbook, so I had basically no chance to play Frontier (I tried, though), but I remember I was enthralled by the demo run itself. Never thought, though, that it would be that hard/bug-ridden to actually play.

The whole trilogy is pretty mind-boggling, but it mainly shines in the grand ideas, not in the characters or their personalities. By now the Dark Forest theory (kinda spoilery, tho it's the title of the second book) is pretty well-known, but back then it seriously gave me the chills.

I've read it some 5 years ago - for me, the main plotline read a bit like a mystery manga series - a setting that's impressively grandiose & totally ridiculous at the same time and you just run with it and expound it step by step beyond any rational expectation. The subplot in the past is excellent.
