I raw-dogged hip surgery yesterday. No anesthetic, no sedation. Just laid on the table and let the Dr clean out and release 3 tendons. I felt everything- from the scalpel cut to the saline "sandblasting" each tendon, to sucking the saline back out.

Found out Friday that all of the connective tissue in my hip joints is basically shredded, down to even where my hamstrings connect is torn. So, ouch. But finally having mri proof that my hips are fucked & it's not in my head is great. EDS is not fun.

Ever have a cosplay so niche that rarely does anyone recognize it? I love my Anita Blake cosplay but I won't even wear it to a convention because I really don't feel like explaining to everyone who I'm supposed to be. I wish more people did book cosplays (beyond Acotar).

Haven't had the energy (mental or physical) to be on bluesky lately. My hips have gotten really bad again, waiting on mri (last one was 10yrs ago). Dr wants to do procedure to clean out those joints but it's typically done with local anesthetic which has no effect on me.

Deep Brenda Lore - 13 yrs ago, I got in a knife fight with another woman and wound up needing 9 stitches on my lip. I was taken to the emergency room by an orthopedic surgeon and the county coroner. (Picture from after the stitches got out for proof)

Finally got to do the Rocky Horror thing at my hometown theater tonight. We had a blast! I threw together a closet cosplay of Frank and tried to make up for the lack of details with body glitter. My friend Jolene had a perfect Columbia costume.

More importantly, during the Haunted Walk, my mom and Aunties were the Boo Crew at admission and selling raffle tickets. And Buzzy, mom's puppy, wore matching pj's with everyone.

I have survived Haunted Walk weekend. But just barely. My hips have both been awful all summer, so i went to an ortho to see about getting cortisone injections. Surprise, they actually listened and gave them both to me Friday. So yeah, was on my feet for two days straight after that. Not good

TOMORROW, TOMORROW, the Haunted Hike will be TOMORROW! (Fri&Sat7-10pm at Curwensville Lake $5/person, all ages) Anyways, here's my fav Haunt Character! The year I got to make up my mom &I as broken porcelain dolls. At night, I'm the dark, we looked practically identical. We also sound the same.

My mom & i wearing matching plaid Lolita dresses (hers is navy w/ red &white checks, mine is red w/ green checks). both dresses are from Baby the Stars Shine Bright. We are wearing curly, pigtailed wigs, here's slightly darker than mine. I have done broken doll makeup on us. I am wearing a white out contact in my one eye to imply that my face is smashed.
We are standing, holding hands and using our free hands to hold our skirts out.

First up this week for my Haunt characters- Ghost Pirate Captain. I was the distraction character so I wore the white ruffled shirt and my own ginger hair so I was bright and ready to see. With the Haunt being outdoors, actors are basically invisible unless they are in white.
