So I'm deep in the muck of my D&D 5e conversion project, hard at the monster section. Going you've the aberration in the SRD, they're either boring, or distinctly D&D (or both). My recommendation is GMBinder.com It fell off on development but it's still a perfectly viable tool. With some CSS know-how, you can set the style to whatever you like and just type. The layout is done semi-automatically, you still have to place your headers, page and column breaks,

A few weeks ago, we had the Polygon debacle where they told indie game makers its time to speak up. And so they spoke up about how polygon rejected their submission because they were indie. For some reason, I thought it was a good idea to create a space and zine highlighting indie games 1/4

What if we as a community, just made a newsletter, blog, or digital magazine that runs exclusively on indie ttrpg news?

What if... unironically... there was a magazine geared towards exclusively covering indie TTRPGs. If such a one does exist I wish I knew of it. All my posts about wanting to know what's new on the scene have rarely been about mainstream. I want Underground ttrpg news!

I haven't read them so I can't speak for them, but the author of one of my favorite zombie series also wrote a werewolf series. Shoutout to Keith C. Blackmore. If you start with the Mountain Man Saga to see what I'm a fan of, you'll see the subtle shift in his storytelling over time.

Get new pajamas, a new robe or sweater, new socks, and underwear. All comfortable materials, of course. Draw a hot bath, shower off before the bath gets too cold. Scrub yourself real good in the bath; it's imperative! Put on all those unused, comfy clothes. Do whatever lazy day things you want.

I always laid out my overall expectations, and then I'll ask if anyone would like to add to or change anything. Listen and compromise where necessary. Then, I ask what they want to personally gain from the experience. Pay. Attention. The remedy for schedule conflicts is making them want to play.

*sigh...* That's actually not all. I have gotten some work done on my viking/monster hunter setting. Small progress, biggest thing is the armor and status effect rework. I've gotten a decent bit down for character Creation and still figuring out the best use of magic and runescribing in the setting

It's been a hectic, insanely stupid few weeks. Because of this my brain has engaged "PFT! Whatever..." mode and it has convinced me to simplify some design choices for my system. I'm happy to announce equipment and status effects have been simplified, but in a good way! That is all, carry on.

I just skimmed through this and here's the takeaways: Classic OSR hex crawl, can't go wrong. Over the Garden Wall sprinkled with a bit more Gothic influence. Lightweight, but fleshed out. Pay what you want. Give it a look for yourself!

I'm not happy leaving it at this. Right at the start, you get hit with nostalgia of the Nostromo interior design in an older vessel. Followed by wreckage of the actual Nostromo, discoveries made, and then hard pan to what feels like a story in Hadley's Hope. So, so much nostalgia in 30 minutes. 1/7

Linus is living better than most people in the real world these days. Fresh food is everywhere around him, I wouldn't touch most wild things growing in my area even though im in a rural place. Don't even get me started on hunting and fishing, most everything is toxic. I'll take stardew valley hobo

"Was it better than resurrection?" Opnion: mostly, yes... mostly... it almost felt like a second jab at resurrection's story, but it had better execution by not being Ripley centric. It also expanded more on the setting by a fair bit. I recommend it for those familiar but not a best place to start.

At some point, there was/is a box or duffel bag full of VHS tapes. Don't ask how I know, I just do. It is the dragons hoard of forgotten treasures. Real talk, i sold my PS4 years ago and still have nothing to watch my blu-rays on. This has not stopped me from buying new ones.
