ximwix @ximwix.net · 05/09/2026I still struggle with katakana (skill issue). But it's fun to try and work out what a word is. Some times it ends up being a German or French word, and I've spent five minutes trying to wrangle it into English! Today's encounter was エオルゼア, which is just a made-up Final Fantasy word! 000
ximwix @ximwix.net · 04/09/2026It's quite competent. Probably the biggest downside is that you can't do custom graphics, though some later type-ins got creative with palettes and overlapping sprites to make things that look somewhat custom. V2 is a bit tight on RAM; V3 has plenty. 000
ximwix @ximwix.net · 02/09/2026Oh, FCC list does have it; I enriched the list with some other free radio DB at one point and maybe it dropped some stations in the process. 120
ximwix @ximwix.net · 02/09/2026Doesn't look like it! Not sure how I'd have missed that one, honestly. I grabbed a CSV export of all registered FM stations from the FCC website, grouped by Owner, then removed any where the group size was greater than 1. Most college stations pass that check 🤔 110
ximwix @ximwix.net · 02/09/2026I built an app to tune into Internet streams of local/indie/college radio stations. It's a lot of talk and classical and jazz and NPR. But sometimes it's a small station in Montana playing an extended block of Judas Priest in the middle of the day. And things like that are exactly why I made it. 140
