Thanks to AI, kids will never know what the ultimate weapon to use against trolls actually is.
An AI search result for "miak". It reads,

"Miak" most famously refers to the fictional "authentic Bulgarian miak" used as the ultimate weapon against trolls in the 1991 Halloween comedy film Ernest Scared Stupid.

Pop Culture

In Ernest Scared Stupid, the character Ernest P. Worrell discovers that a heavy dose of milk-like "miak" is the only thing that can destroy the evil trolls terrorizing the town.

Of all the weird things about this illustration, the fact that Mario has five fingers might be the weirdest.

A vintage Japanese promotional poster on a bright yellow background advertising a Kimco consumer sweepstakes tied to Nintendo's Family Computer (Famicom). The headline, in large bold red Japanese text, reads "キムコ ファミコン プレゼント" ("Kimco Famicom Present"), with black text above stating that Super Mario and four other titles can be won during "Kimco's summer." In the upper-right corner is the Kimco logo.

The central illustration features a cheerful cartoon Mario running toward the viewer. He wears his classic red cap with a white "M," red shirt, blue overalls, white gloves, and brown shoes. Mario smiles broadly with oversized blue eyes and a thick black mustache. In his left hand he holds Princess Peach, drawn as a tiny doll-like figure with blonde hair, a gold crown, a pink gown, and white gloves. In his right hand he presents a rectangular yellow-and-white Kimco household cleaning product.

If I change the order of the commands so that the COLOR (and its cursor relocation) happens before our LOCATE command, then things work within v2.1 as well.

Today's #RandomGameSaturday game is Salad no Kuni no Tomato Hime for the Nintendo Famicom; perhaps better known as Princess Tomato in the Salad Kingdom. The cartridge is the color of fresh lettuce.
A close-up shot of a lime-green Japanese Famicom cartridge resting on a dark wooden surface. The label features the colorful title "Salad no Kuni no Tomato Hime" in stylized Japanese text. The katakana for Tomato is stylized like three oddly-shaped tomatoes. The artwork depicts anthropomorphic cartoon vegetables, including a large angry orange pumpkin king wearing a crown, a cucumber knight holding a sword, and two smaller round red tomato characters at the bottom near a castle. Text on the bottom reads "©1988 HUDSON SOFT", "HFC-RT", and "MADE IN JAPAN".

Kids mercilessly beating up Donkey Kong Jr. until they get some credits.
Nintendo service department bulletin #TKG.05

In order to prevent the accumulation of free credits by kicking the coin door, a slam switch should be added.

In all cases the switch (a "normally open" weighted reed switch) should be mounted on the coin door. Connect one side of the slam switch to the brown wire on the coin switch (ground). The other side of the slam switch should be connected to a wire which will be run through the wiring harness to the CPU board. At this point the installations vary for the five (5) games.

Kids poking Donkey Kong Jr. with flattened straws until they get some credits.
Nintendo service department bulletin #DJR-01

It has been brought to our attention that a flattened straw or similar object can be passed through the center opening in the upper hinge. If the object makes contact with the coin switch, it can be used to run up multiple credits.

The solution is to block the opening with a flange made of wood or metal. This flange should be mounted to the inside of the cabinet and can be obtained from us as a retrofit kit.

This problem is present in all Radar Scope uprights, Donkey Kong uprights and early Donkey Kong Junior uprights.

Kids throwing small change at Donkey Kong Jr. until they get some credits.
Nintendo service department bulletin #DJR-02

It has come to our attention that there is a problem with the model #730A coin selector in that a nickel or a penny, if flipped through the entry just right, will continue through the mechanism and establish credits.

The solution to this problem is to add two small metal pieces to the selector as shown in the accompanying drawing. These pieces are available at no charge. The threaded holes in the selector is an M3 X 6MM size.

Here is Wai Wai World 2 for the Nintendo Famicom for this rainy #RandomGameSaturday . Fond memories of finding a ROM for this back in the day. Castlevania guy and Contra guy in the same game? And also a baby for some reason? Yes. Another great and very import-friendly exclusive.
A close-up photo of a black Famicom cartridge resting on a dark woodgrain table. The label for *Wai Wai World 2: SOS!! パセリ城* shows a group of colorful chibi-style Konami characters gathered together against a bright green-and-blue geometric background with stars. Recognizable characters include Simon Belmont from *Castlevania*, holding a whip near the upper left, and Bill Rizer from *Contra*, shown with a bandana and determined expression near the upper right. Japanese title text fills the lower half of the label above the “© KONAMI 1991” copyright notice, with cartridge code “RC850” printed in the top-left corner.

Cool beans. So this makes audio. It repeats/loops all on its own, and has a kind of mid/long decay to it. And it stops when I press any key. Not sure if it's because that makes the Famicom make a different "keypress" sound effect or what.
