On Wednesday, September 12th, 2001, my parents called me from Ireland where they were on a trip for my Mom's 50th birthday. They told me to go and buy the latest issue of Adventures of Superman (#596). They said it was being pulled from shelves.

Just found my favourite new art instillation, Neo Ta Memes. It consists of a re-creation of an Olmec colossal head, crushing a blue Tesla Model 3. Chavis Mármol, the artist, required a Tesla because, according to him, he wanted to "troll" Elon Musk, who in his view is "a sinister figure."

When I left Twitter (refuse to call it X), I was following about 150 people, and had maybe 300 people following me; I'm sure a bunch were bots by the end. I know a lot of people who made the switch bemoan the loss of engagement, but I find this wild as I'm just some guy. Thanks, friends.

I hate to say it, but Sutcliff's picture of Fisher Park the other day really does show Spring in Ottawa.

Mayor Mark Sutcliffe shared this photo of melting snow at Fisher Park as part of his "Good morning Ottawa" series on social media. The post has since gone viral, with one critic calling the scene a "hellscape."

Today is the 50th Anniversary of the release of JAWS, the first modern blockbuster. It is indeed a classic, but is film better now for what it birthed? I like big bombastic cinematic spectacle as much as anyone else, but what are we losing by studios contusing to force feed us these films?
