Skydance's first days: Casey Bloys stays running all streaming, Cindy Holland — Ellison's own Paramount hire — is out, and Taylor Sheridan already walked. Ellison says HBO Max and Paramount+ will eventually merge, as he chases $6B in synergies against $79B in debt. #Skydance

Warner Bros. ownership history: AT&T → Discovery → Skydance Three owners in 8 years. The studio that made Casablanca can't hold a parent company long enough to greenlight a sequel. The most consistent franchise isn't cinema. It's consolidation. #WarnerBros #Skydance #Mergers

Luces de bohemia (1920), by Ramón del Valle-Inclán, created the esperpento genre — reality deformed as in a fairground mirror. Censorship kept it off Spanish stages during his lifetime; it wasn't performed in Spain until 1970, 34 years after his death. #ValleInclan

La casa de Bernarda Alba, Lorca's last play, completed June 19, 1936 — he was murdered just two months later. Banned in Spain, it premiered in Buenos Aires in 1945 and wasn't staged in Spain until 1964. Lorca based Bernarda on a real neighbor from his childhood village. #Lorca

Los santos inocentes (1984), dir. Mario Camus, adapted from Miguel Delibes' novel. At Cannes 1984, Alfredo Landa and Francisco Rabal shared Best Actor ex aequo — a rare split. Nominated for the Palme d'Or, it's since been voted the 3rd-best Spanish film ever. #LosSantosInocentes

El pisito (1958), dir. Marco Ferreri, written by Rafael Azcona from his own novel. A satirical look at Franco-era Spain's housing crisis, predating Azcona's famous partnership with Berlanga by a year. Won a Special Jury Mention and FIPRESCI prize at Locarno 1958. #RafaelAzcona

Vangelis composed Blade Runner (1982) in his London studio, improvising to footage rather than script. Despite BAFTA and Golden Globe nods, the soundtrack wasn't officially released until 1994. Fans had circulated a bootleg tape for over a decade. #Vangelis #BladeRunner

In 1982, Coca-Cola bought Columbia Pictures for $750M. The first time a consumer goods company owned a major film studio outright. The bet unraveled after Ishtar (1987) bombed; Coke spun off its studio that year and sold the rest to Sony in 1989 for $3.4B. #ColumbiaPictures

Paramount + Warner’s real challenge isn’t buying Warner. It’s financing it. Debt, integration costs and 30–32 films a year vs. Disney’s ~15 across its brands. Owning Hollywood is one thing. Paying for it every year is another. #Paramount #WarnerBros #Disney

Mars Attacks! (1996) reunited Burton and Elfman after a falling-out since Batman Returns. Elfman scored it with two theremins and choir, deliberately parodying 1950s B-movie sci-fi — the same sound that made 1951's The Day the Earth Stood Still iconic. #DannyElfman

A Clockwork Orange (1971): the title isn't about fruit. Burgess took it from old London slang — something that looks alive on the outside, clockwork within. His teen slang Nadsat mixes Russian and Cockney rhyming slang, with zero glossary in the novel. #AClockworkOrange #Kubrick
