Weedy Sea Kingdra, drifting alone 💜🪸 The colours look a lil washed out compared to how it looked on my drawing tablet >< I have some spooky season art in the works too! I've just been swamped irl so I haven't been able to draw as much. #art #pokemonart #pokemon #seadragon #kingdra
A digital art piece of the pokemon kingdra. This one is shiny. They're drawn to look like a weedy sea dragon, with delicate pink fins that trail off their body like leaves on a sea plant.
Their purple body has long, elegant protrusions that branch like coral from their head and back. Their ruby red eyes are resolute yet almost lonely as they gaze ahead.
In the background, three luvdisc float in the purple-hued water, under the light of the sun that shines down from the surface. One of them is a bright golden yellow, the same shade as the kingdra's belly.
Wispy, kelp-like sea plants frame the scene in the foreground. The kingdra is swimming towards their beckoning tendrils, away from the light of the surface.

A black locust unicorn! Undecided on a name. I started this art piece several months ago, but I was too burned out to finish it. Finally it's complete. 💜 For me, it represents freedom. 🌸🌿 #art #unicorn #creaturedesign #OCsky #OCart #OC #characterdesign #fantasy
A digital art piece of a black locust unicorn frolicking through a field of flowers bathed in the orange glow of sunset. The unicorn's flowing brown mane is filled with blooming white locust flowers, as is their tufted tail, and loose petals flutter in the wind behind them.
The sun shines behind them, illuminating their thorn-like horn and tufted ears with a halo of light. Their body is delicate yet muscular, and marbled in brown and cream markings similar to a pinto horse. Tucked away beneath their mane is a branch of black locust leaves, and they have similar markings running down their back.
In the distance on a hill is a solitary locust tree in bloom. A hawk hunts far above. Dark clouds are looming in the distant horizon, but they're dissipating in the fading light of the setting sun.
The unicorn gazes forwards with eyes as golden as the sky, their expression peaceful. They look as though they've been carrying a heavy burden for a very long time, but are finally free.

It’s time for the puffling playoffs! 🐣 This summer we welcomed two hatchlings to our tufted puffin colony. Our aviculturists chose the name Nori, like the type of seaweed used in sushi, for the older puffling.

I'm so happy to share I contributed some art to Deltarune Chapter 3 in the form of Tenna's word art + the TV Time logo!! I had SO many type design inspirations, but special shout-outs to Typodermic Fonts, House Industries, Rocky & Bullwinkle, Paper Mario, and Adventureland Resort in Des Moines, IA.
Screenshot of Mr. Tenna's first line of dialogue in Deltarune Chapter 3. The word "AMAZING" is set in Cast Iron by West Wind Fonts. The type is purple with a rainbow gradient, surrounded by fireworks and confetti. Screenshot from the end of Mr. Tenna's VHS tape in Deltarune Chapter 3. It reads "Mr. (Ant) TENNA'S TV TME!!!" Fonts used are Dayposter, Airstream, and Ed Roman. "TIME!!!" and the TV logo are custom designs.

Amazing! - deepsea bacteria take up methane, oxidize carbon - sea spiders FARM the bacteria on THEIR OWN BODY (like yeti crabs) - the sea spiders eat the bacteria as part of the chemosynthetic food chain - methane from the seeps doesn't get into the atmosphere 🧪🦑 www.pnas.org/doi/full/10....

Being a palaeoartist and an active palaeontologist, is a blessing and a curse. You can create your own artworks to accompany your research, but, you don't get paid for it, it's additional workload you have to quickly squeeze into your schedule, your artistic mishaps will be scrutinised more.

I've always liked the way porcelain crabs look, with the large claws for defense but separate fan-like 'arms' for catching tiny particles of food. They are not true crabs, but an example of carcinisation, a phenomenon where separate lineages of crustaceans evolved independently to look like crabs.

Tiniest of wee bitty crab blessings upon your timeline. 🦀 #ItsDangerousToGoAloneTakeThis
Itty bitty hermit crab baby small as a grain of small rice crawling on a hand the finger/hand print ridges are larger than tiny crab’s legs. Electric blue eyes look up at you and into your soul. Tiny shell is stripy as are the legs. Mini claws reach out as if to say, “take me on your quest” but alas tiny crab must go back to their tidepool. Their crabby friends would miss them too much.

Helped a snail cross the road and wanted to draw one 💜🐌 This luminous little friend is hanging out on a charcoal burner mushroom! 🍄🍂 #inverts #art #bugs #bugsky #snail #sciart #fungifriends
A digital art piece of a golden yellow snail. Their luminous golden eyes and spiral shell light up their surroundings with a soft yellow light. They're looking at the viewer with a thoughtful and calm expression, and their pale beige-yellow skin shines with lemon and orange hued iridescence where the light hits it.
They are perched on top of a reddish-purple charcoal burner mushroom, speckled with lighter markings. It has a pale cream stalk, and is peeking out from yellowed autumn grass. In the background, tall maple trees in the peak of their autumn colours shade the forest floor. The sky is a fading orange, the tail end of a sunset in October. The scene is warm and bright, as though the snail is offering hope despite the season's slow decay into winter.

Shell swap. Here a small Hairy hermit wearing an exotic Babylonian whelk shell, investigates a newer one, then in 4 photos, moves into it. (1 of 2 posts) #VancouverIsland #HermitCrabs #IntertidalInvertebrates #Invertebrates #MarineLife #DailyHermit
1. A brown hermit with blue knees, wearing a white shell with brick-red patches, somewhat spotted with algae, reaches into the open whorl of a newer shell of the same species. Two legs span the new shell on the outside; seen in the photo also are one leg and one cheliped, probing its inner spiral.2. The hermit has abandoned the old shell. Here, he twists his abdomen around to insert it into the new shell, standing head down, abdomen above. His small shell-grabber legs are visible next to the darker abdomen.3. The hermit is now inside the new shell, head, antennae, chelipeds and 2 legs exposed. The older shell lies, discarded, off to the left.4. And now he's retreated deep inside the new shell, leaving only the tips of legs, a cheliped and an antenna visible, and has rotated the shell into an almost walking position.
