Fascinating insights into the early history of Zotero, including the fact that the name is the Albanian word for "to learn well or master". Hats off to everyone involved in this project. Also if you're not using Zotero, why not? Dump that closed rubbish you're using now and switch.

At 18, Christa Pike was sentenced to death for murder. What if the jury knew she had suffered years of sexual abuse as a child?

"An ambulance was seen arriving at the prison where Pike was to be executed and then leaving. Medical aid was being administered, according to online federal court records." The utter absurdity of the state trying twice to kill someone and then calling an ambulance. We must end the death penalty.

I see them more and more in grant proposals, looks good the first 3 sec., after that not so much. There is real value in drawing your own figures as this means that you have to think about how to convey a message. This in turn helps to refine a project. All these steps are skipped when using ai.

I have recently used genAI to generate a figure, and then I thought 'I can do better than this', started designing one myself and in that process came up with new ideas and concepts. That would not have happened if I had simply added the AI figure to a manuscript and moved on.
