All parties in the city have criticized this plan because it was botched by Ken Sim. With 6,000+ unprotected tenants, no affordability secured on the east side, and rushed consultation that created blowback from residents, it’s no wonder that Lucy tried to delay the vote by referring to staff.

The “affordability” piece is 10% at average vancouver rents, the other 90% is at “market” rents, which will be very high at a valuable site like this buoyed by public amenities like skytrain and trout lake.

It’s sort of being misrepresented online. He gave a number of reasons in his statement for his mixed feelings. He made the call to reflect the opposition in his vote knowing he would be the only one. He wasn’t endorsing using public comment as a barometer for votes in general.

I like accessibility but I really don’t like how alt text is structured. It impedes the flow. One should be able to add alt text after they post. Other people should be able to suggest alt text which you accept/amend/reject if there is none. This would be more accessible.
