I just realized I got so excited about starting all the things for the Arctic Circle Residency, I hadn't posted to my regular site about it yet, whoops! I was accepted to a very competitive residency for April of 2027 where I will be spending 2 weeks on a sailing ship on the Arctic sea with 30 scientists and artist as we experiment and creator our way around the polar ice cap.

I know this is a question I had when I first started and I scoured the internet for advice and examples before I started applying to residencies around the globe. First thing first: make a giant spreadsheet of every residency you can find. You'll keep adding to it as you go--I swore I had all the writing residencies I qualified for on the list, but I keep finding more that I trip over while doing research to fund the Arctic Residency!

So I took the dive and for the last two weeks I've started my sponsorship campaign. Can you tell I have a thing for Arctic animals? Just wait until I can show y'all the lovely little felted friends that are going to be helping me with this journey! Anyway, I thought I'd give you an update on the fundraising, and give some insight into the process.

I just got my acceptance to my dream residency: two weeks on an arctic vessel alongside scientists and artists from around the world. I am so incredibly excited and nervous for this opportunity, but the only hiccup is that traveling to and around the arctic circle is an incredibly expensive adventure. Thus, this post. I was hoping to get your support in one (or more!) ways.
