Yakuza nerd things… The legends are true and as soon as we reached kabukicho I stopped needing a map because of how accurate the games were lol Also I kept referring to it as kamurocho by accident so I may be beyond saving

No spoilers but I loved Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil! Not my favorite movie of his (would have loved 10% less jokes even though I found them all funny) but I would LOVE to play a RE game based on the movie. It was so fun and for the first time in my life I actually screamed in a theater lol

Who wants an instant 80 more fps? I did, so I set my game to unlit and made a fake shadow material. No idea if it's viable but it intrigues me. (I'm only using the vector info from the directional light for a first quick test. No light + constant3vector node= same result) #ue5 #gamedev #horrorgame

This part kills me. I love going to UE meetups to meet people who share the same love of 3D and gamedev as me. In the past months 80% of the events have turned to « how to use AI so you don’t have to do the thing the community is about ». They suck the joy, fun and meaning out of anything they can.

Back when I did the Silent Hill f Technical Art study, I wanted better walking animations so I tried using the Game Animation Sample. It didn't fit and I ended up making my own, but I got to see parkour Hinako which was pretty funny. She's a beast, the ayakashi are so cooked. #silenthillf

Random tech art experiment of the day: Backporting the tesselation fade distance from later versions of UE5 to 5.4. Tesselation is pretty expensive and adding the feature got me an extra 5 fps with some scenes.

I think lighting wise this is one of my favorite shots I've ever done. It sounds silly because it's simple but I love diffuse lighting and the fact we can finally get it to look good in game engines. If I ever got the chance to work on a game that feels like this I could die happy

Finished reading The Long Walk and enjoyed it, didn’t feel strongly about it but now that it’s over it’s stuck in my mind. Also watched the movie, I think it did good on the emotional beat but it felt kinda small in terms of the crowd and the amount of walkers

Credit where credit is due, I played The Coma 3 with VERY LOW expectations and it was a big upgrade over 2B. Not too long, more varied and most importantly, they finally gave up on trying (and failing hard) to be scary and embraced more fun gameplay, which actually fits the story. I liked it!
