You see an AI slop factory churning out 'comedy' songs called like 'I done a poo in lidl' and you think "ah I'm so glad my entire ripped off discography is going to good use"

Fucking hell, that's bleak. Reminds me of all those festivals that used to love a good 'apply to play! click here!' and it would take you to some 3rd party nonsense that cost a packet and resulted in absolutely 0 gigs.

Always fascinated by those bands from the early-mid 00s that got signed in the indie sleaze wave, released one album, broke up and you totally forgot about. The Organ's Grab That Gun though, is really good, in that semi-Interpol sort of thing: youtu.be/g9Rybl6pf9s?...

Easily identifiable by their love of watching Instagram pratfall clips with that horrible wheezy laugh stock sound at full volume for entire train journeys

Remember a few years ago, at a gig we were supporting a bigger artist on, a lad came up to the merch table and picked up a CD from me, bundled it with some stuff from the headliner and went to pay them instead of giving me anything. I turned to Soph & just said "fuck, I just can't even be arsed"

Feel like this bit in Heat where Pacino just shouts "don't waste my motherfuckin time!" will come in handy being on bluesky. Just gonna dump it here for future use.

At that point in unemployment where inbetween applying for jobs I'm woefully unqualified for, I'm watching Tia Carrere's short lived action adventure series Relic Hunter on DVD. Living the dream here, lads.

Just talking to a pal who drove a few hours to play a festival at the weekend and his petrol bill was £140 - absolutely insane. If the average fee doesn't go up to match that, your faves doing DIY tours are not gonna be doing them much longer.

The most tragic thing about where we are now is that tech guys had a real once in a lifetime opportunity to do something really cool, but instead rage-baited boomers for money

I used to have a twitter account years and years ago, and all I did on it was describe bits of Oxide and Neutrino's 'Bound 4 Da Reload'. Every now and then I'd login and just tweet something like '*casualty theme plays*' and people would tag the account, thinking it was actually them. Halcyon days.

One of the things about living in Saltaire is that it gets used as a film set quite often - it's basically an untouched Victorian village after all - and over the last few days there's plenty of hubbub and road closures, so a film is rolling into town. Not sure which yet, but a *lot* of rumours

Was reminded of perhaps the greatest pop song of the 2010s yesterday, Alphabeat's The Spell, which is so good, it's absolutely criminal that the label fumbled it so badly that the band essentially just gave up after it: youtu.be/9XxMJEFQhps?...

And then of course this is the knock on effect - studios don't waste time or money making dvds/ blu rays of shows anymore as they're trying to force you to go stream it instead. It's such a shit sandwich.

040

Gavin Miller @worriedaboutsatan.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

This is so funny to do this now, as blu rays, dvds and 4ks have never been more en vogue and never been easier or cheaper to pick up. Bought the entire 2nd season of arrested development for 20p the other day. Madness.
