He played for England from the age of 15 (at the time the youngest to play for the national team). He was a Busby Babe-playing for Manchester United. Sadly Duncan died in 1958 at the age of 21. He sustained severe injuries in the Munich Air Disaster. He survived the crash but died 15 days later.

Today would have been resident artist Gayle Rogers' ancestor's birthday. That might seem like a strange statement - but Gayle's ancestor was Duncan Edwards a footballer of such stature that he is still regarded by many as one of the greatest players of all time - not just in the UK but globally.

Today, 6th February is the anniversary of the 1958 #Munich Air Disaster. This mini zine was created by Worker's artist Gayle Rogers whose ancestor Duncan Edwards died from the injuries he sustained in the plane crash. He was 21 years old. Thinking of all those affected by the loss of loved ones.
