Two books for spooky season: COFFIN MOON, Keith Rosson: Best modern vampire story ever (although it's set in the 70s). THE TWISTED ONES, by T. Kingfisher: It lures you in with chatty good humor (especially about NPR Pledge Week) and a lovely dog...then slams the door and bites you in the dark.
