Watching both Marathon and Arc Raiders morph into PvE centric games is funny. And Tarkov having a wildly popular PvE mode and single player mod (SPT) is just so funny to me too. Part of it is, I think, that players are really hungry for good PvE (esp good co-op PvE). But its also just Game Theory

Great comment I found on youtube, lol. "Normalize X" is great, but dont use it as a veiled way of saying"Y sucks and is bad". Also, the forever discourse over sex in the fandom and the popularity of sex in the fandom continues to be the forever thing, lol. Vague post king, I know, lol.

Playstation: we hate our players so much we'll delete your digital content and cease making physical content. Xbox: idk if we can top that but we'll try! We've been hyping cloud gaming for years, so now it's time for the rug pull. Cloud gaming now limited to 15 hours a month *if* you pay us extra.

I wonder, does art *have* to be black and white? Only ever an obviously good person doing obviously good things? Who is obviously rewarded for said goodness in obviously good ways? Who is even proclaimed by the art itself to be obviously good for their obvious goodness?

I think about this at least a dozen times a day.

people end up unable to see depiction as anything other than endorsement when their entire cultural diet is escapist fun and reassurance. they see something make them uncomfortable and can only assume people are watching horrible shit as vicarious pleasure and are horrified.

Vague complaint about signal to noise ratio in online groups. (Hypothetical) I could join a group about Mahayana Buddhist Werewolf Furries and with my luck it'd just be a bunch of posts about beer, pics of some dudes girlfriend, and random horror movie clips of the non-werewolf variety, and drama.

I cannot engage with the helldivers 2 subreddits anymore, lol I'm no "glazediver", and I'm not blind to the issues, but the game is so much fun *despite* the issues And the community review bombs the game every 2 months over the dumbest things. The game just hit "mostly negative" recent reviews 🙄

The second anti-Ai stance I wish to highlight is from Brandon Sanderson, the famous sci-fi/fantasy author of works such as Mistborn. His argument is well-reasoned, nuanced, and multifaceted, but his main point is that: "We are the art", and that the Artist can be changed by the art.

A couple of people I look up to have taken anti-Ai content stances lately, and I figured I'd share their reasoning and arguments. The first is Dr Justin Sledge, owner of the Esoterica youtube chanel which focuses on The Arcane across history, philosophy, and religion. Here is a quote from him:

Turns out, new historic findings and archeological research can contradict long-held Pagan and Wiccan traditions. Modern Witches have to grapple with challenges to historic lineage claims, cognitive dissonance, intellectual dishonesty, and dealing with "faith crises". youtu.be/e3O0bdX1RLE?...

April fools is a great reminder to take anything/everything you see online with a grain of salt But! We should do that all the time, lol, not just on this particular day Obv we dont have enough time or energy to research everything to the nth degree always, but we can at least remain skeptical :)

Just saw Project Hail Marry! Excellent film! The praise its getting is deserved. Such a celebration of life, humanity, science, and overcoming challenges. Its like The Martian fused with Interstellar, in all the right ways. Great humor that wasnt marvel style one lines and tonal whiplash.

Watched this short film from Altavision called Hunter Killer Dope af fictional short film about modern warfare with a focus on drones. Plays more like a horror film than a war film, and has amazing special effects and acting. Loved it! www.youtube.com/watch?v=8BnH...

Reflecting on my love of werewolves: I realize now that back when I was religious I would use more therian coded language to describe my thoughts/feelings towards Lycanthropy. And knowing how easily corruptable memories are, and how biased current v past self reflection can be, caution is wise.

Helldivers 2 and social anxiety: I hate when someone tries to help me with an assisted reload, lmao. It makes it so I can't move around, and now I also feel like I have to perform well or Im wasting their ammo and time. I'd rather them just use their own stuff and call-ins, tbh.

Even the sloppiest, most preposterous smut is better than what AI can do because a smut author understands and *believes* in the kink. They get it, they like it, they are demonstrating through prose what's hot or intriguing about it. Romance and erotica ought to be one of the most personal genres.

We saw the new Knives out Movie and loved it! This one felt less pretentious than the second, and darker than either the first or second. Amazing all-star cast with incredible performances and perfectly paced jokes. No marvel humor at all. Good suspense, great twists, and an enjoyable watch!

Finally saw Zootopia 2! Very entertaining film! Though I wish they played it less "safe"; this movie largely felt like the first with much of the same messaging, character arcs, and plot beats. Still, visually impressive, often hilarious, and enjoyable! Easy recommend from me :)

I'm being so real right now, learn how to engage in media as art and not a reflection of your own real life morals. consume things that make you uncomfortable and understand why it makes you uncomfortable. Don't just base yours and others morals standings on the media you consume.

Not to preach toxic positivity but more people need to ignore the little worm in their brain that tells them to share bad posts. There is no shortage of places to see this crap. Compulsively wallowing in it can't be healthy. Make space to get weird instead of just angry and sad.

Enjoying physical media but not steelbook cases is a curse. I want to own the content outside of an online or subscription service, but I dont care what the *case* looks like, and I'm not interested in paying extra. Most 1st world problem ever, but man, some movies are hard to get non-steelbook
