Good morning people. It's @alan678.bsky.social turn for #BirdOfTheDay themes and he has chosen #PassportPhoto a photograph of a bird that could be its passport picture. The Alt Theme is #WaterBirds birds found near water. #birds #photography #ECK @rspb.bsky.social #CanonR5mkii #ukbirding #BirdLife

Cheryl Chiffchaff needed to renew her passport because she had got through to judges houses on 'B Factor' and she was going to Simon Owl's house. So she got really excited but that was short lived, when she got to the airport she found out she was going to Iceland. She was expecting somewhere hot and only packed shorts, skimpy tops and bikinis, so it was going to be real fun for her.

Captured at Rodley Nature Reserve.

Martin 'The Crossover' Mallard was over the moon to be going to Sheryl Crow's house after getting through to the Judges Houses, and wouldn't stop singing 'Two More Bottles of Wine'. You can obviously tell what he drinks in the evenings, so i told him he should cut down on the vino and concentrate on getting through to the finals show.

Captured at Warnham Nature Reserve.

Rodney 'Rockin' Robin was also through to Judges Houses and was selected to go to Gary Sparrow childhood home in Cheshire, so he wasn't in need of his passport urgently like the others.
He was hoping for somewhere warmer than home but it is what it is, all he had to do now was choose between his cover of 'Master of Puffins' or 'Enter Sand-Martins' by Metallica.

Captured at Forest Farm Nature Reserve.

Then it was time for Jerry Jay to get his passport for his trip to Sharon 'Puffin' Seabourne's house in Los Angeles, i did tell him he had to take his nuts out of his mouth..... not them ones... for his photo to be taken.
Jerry had decided he was going to do 'Chirp At The Moon' his version of Ozzy's 1983 track, as he thought it might help him get through by honouring Ozzy.

Captured at Forest Farm Nature Reserve.

Little blue heron hunting 3 (Egretta caerulea) CREW flint pen strand lakes Bonita Springs, Florida 4-26-26 Alan & Rob’s Monday #BirdOfTheDay theme #PassportPhoto: bird photo that could be for its passport. Alt is #WaterBirds: bird(s) found near water. #birds #photography #BlueSkyMonday #ECK #art

Peering from between green and brown reeds, a small, darkly colored bird, with purple-maroon head and blue body, two-toned bill with a light blue base, and a black tip, and yellow eyes, against a light blue background of the cloudless sky reflected off the water.

Another fun theme from @alan678.bsky.social for #birdoftheday — #ABCD My offering is a Brandt’s Cormorant shading her chicks. These birds nest by the thousands on Alcatraz Island. Photo is from February.

A family out for an early morning walk through the park. #BirdOfTheDay #DucksOutOfWater #Photography #ECK

A female duck and her nine ducklings are walking across a pathway in a park. On each side of the path are grass areas and with the trunks of a few trees visible. The ducks are headed to the creek which runs on the left side of the photo but can not be seen behind the shrubs growing on the bank.

We heard today's #BirdOfTheDay theme was #reflection... and couldn't resist joining in with these stunners. 😍 👇️

A Kingfisher perches on a curved branch above golden water, its bright blue back and orange chest glowing in warm light. The reflection of the curved branch in the water below forms an imperfect circle beneath it, creating a striking moment.

A Little Egret steps delicately through shallow water, its slender black legs and white feathers sharply reflected below.

A Lapwing stands in still, shallow water, its black-and-white plumage and wispy crest clearly visible. Its reflection sits almost perfectly beneath it, doubled in the calm surface with soft reeds around the edges.

Good morning. The #birdoftheday theme today is #grounded , any bird on natural ground. The alt theme is #silhouettes&shadows any silhouette capture or shadow in capture. Good luck. 🤞 #birds #photography #eck

A Meadow Pipit perched low among a tangle of green and dry grasses, its streaked brown plumage blending seamlessly with the surrounding vegetation. The bird faces right with its head slightly turned, showing a fine bill, pale eye-ring, and dark, alert eye. Soft light catches the feather detail while the background falls into a smooth, neutral blur, emphasizing its natural grassland habitat.

Good Morning All. Today's #BirdOfTheDay theme is #MarriedCouples, same species Male/Female bird pairs, the Alt theme is #Gulls. Please use the #'s for #BirdOfTheDay & #Theme you contribute to if possible please. It helps us to find them. Fun Info in Alt Text. #birds #ECK #ukbirding #CanonR5mkii

A Male & Female Wigeon having a date at a fancy restaurant at Summer Leys Nature Reserve which is looked after by @wildlifebcn.org.
The pair were enjoying the short grass starter.

A pair of Gadwalls out on a date at Stodmarsh Nature Reserve, the Reserve is looked after by Natural England.
Sadly Mr Gadwall hadn't booked a table at the restaurant and it was fully booked when they got there, so Miss Gadwall wasn't impressed with her date as she was very hungry, so it looked like it was going to be a chippy tea for them.

A Male & Female Eurasian Teal having a date at Summer Leys Nature Reserve which is looked after by @wildlifebcn.org.
As can be seen the Female was making sure her date had cleaned all areas and had used deodorant afterwards.

A Male & Female Oystercatcher having a date at Summer Leys Nature Reserve which is looked after by @wildlifebcn.org.
As can be seen the Male Oystercatcher decided to skip the Starter & Mains and jumped straight in for Dessert, it didn't go down well with the Female as she was very hungry.

Today's #BirdOfTheDay theme is #WingsOpenNotFlying - I submit this Great Blue Heron doing the flasher pose. My understanding is this is an effort to expose the underwings to sun so parasites come out of the feathers and can be removed more easily. #birds
